//note: helloooo, it's been a while, and jimin's ost has been giving me hella feels, so I just had to write for this couple )): please enjoy a little flashback of new mama y/n and new daddy jimin!

//note #2: for those that follow my serendipity couple, please note that I've changed their child's name to "Yona" which can mean 'dove' or 'bear', and I just thought it was the sweetest!

You’ve always known parenting was going to be hard; late nights, early mornings, and just nights of absolutely no sleep at all. You knew this part of parenting will be the hardest, boy, did you know.

But nonetheless, you and your husband couldn’t ask for anything better than her.

Your sweet little dove, your baby girl, Yona. The sweetest little human, that perfectly resembled you and Jimin. Her eyes from you, and her little nose from your husband—she’s the perfect mix of the both of you. Most of the time she’s the calmest baby ever; getting compliments from your friends on how well she behaves during their weekly visits. No one ever understood the bags under your eyes, or Jimin’s frequent yawns, when all they saw was the quietest, playful baby during the day.

But nights like this—you feel as if you weren’t good enough.

Nights like this when she’s been wailing for hours in your shared room, and you not knowing what else to do for her.

Nights like this when you’ve done everything you could to comfort her, anything to get her to calm down and sleep peacefully.

Nights like this when you cry quietly with her, tucking her head in the crook of your neck as she continues to sob against you, while you too, have tears falling down your cheeks, as you sway with her in the dimly lit bedroom.

Nothing breaks Jimin’s heart more than seeing his girl’s cry.

“Jagi?”

Sniffling, with Yona still crying, you turned to your husband who wraps his arms around you, pressing a soft kiss onto his baby’s head, cradling the both of you.  

“I don’t know what else to do…” You whispered, tightly closing your eyes, “She just keeps crying…” You sigh heavily, whispering sweet nothings to your child, in hopes to calm her down a little,

“Oh baby, you’ve woken up daddy…” You mumble against her head, holding her closer, as she continues to sob.

“Don’t worry, jagi, you’re doing beautifully.” Jimin smiles tiredly, his eyes disappearing.

“May I?” He asks, unwinding his arms from you to carefully take his daughter into his arms. Yona continued to whimper against her father, causing your frown to deepen. Jimin, similarly, holds his daughter against his bare chest, swaying with her gently, while humming.

“I wanna be with you; And I wanna stay with you; Just like the stars shining bright; You’re glowing once more” He sings softly, smiling down at her with stars in his own eyes. Yona’s crying starts to quiet down, almost as if she’s listening to him singing to her…

“Just take it all; I’m nothing without your love,”

“I promise I’ll never leave your love,”

“My heart is beating ‘cause of you,”

“Forever, and ever, and ever…”

You watched as Jimin sings quietly to her, her sobs now hushed and quiet snores erupt from her little frame. Smiling quietly to yourself, Jimin continues,

“Only you can take my heart… Dear my love, love, love,”

“I wanna stay with you.”

Smiling down at the little human in his arms, he presses a gentle kiss against her forehead, and peers up at you with a tired smile. Shuffling forward, you bring your own arms around him, gently pulling the two into your arms, and planting a kiss onto his cheek, resting your forehead against the side of his face.

“Thank you…” You whisper, “I love you.”

Jimin turns, placing a kiss atop your nose, nuzzling it soon after, “I love you, thank you for giving her life.”
