          she  hadn’t  heard  him  get  up,  honey  eyes  cutting  back  at him,  squinting  in  an  attempt  to  see  him  through  the  dark.  sure  enough,  there,  illuminated  in  the  lantern  light  was  arthur.

          “ real  observant,  ain't  you,  arthur ? ”  she  rasped  with  a  teasing  lilt.  she  let  her  words  linger  for  a  moment  before  she  sighed  and  looked  ahead  of  herself  again,  down  to  the  river  below.

          “ ain’t  got  much  want  to, ”  she  admitted,  voice  noticeably  softer.  “ figured  it  didn’t  do  much  good  to  toss  and  turn  all  night,  anyhow. ”  while  it  had  gotten  easier  for  her  to  go  about  her  daily  life  after  the  passing  of  her  husband,  she  still  had  those  nights  where  the  nightmares  kept  coming  and  she  didn’t  know  peace  of  mind.  so,  she’d  sit  and  look  at  the  stars  until  the  sun  rose,  usually  alone,  but  she  found  that  she  didn’t  mind  arthur’s  company  this  time.

[ PHOTOGRAPH ] : as someone volunteers to take a picture of them on a day out, sender instinctively wraps an arm around the receiver to steady them, holding them close for a photo that turns out to be more romantic than they were expecting.

[ CHALLENGE ] : after the receiver teasingly suggests that the sender is a terrible kisser, sender immediately and fervently proves them wrong with a long, passionate kiss that leaves the receiver taking back what they said.

[ LANGUAGE ] : sender begins to speak seductively and fluently with the receiver in another language.

[ CONSTANT ] : after days/weeks/months/years of endless flirting back and forth, sender finally dares the receiver to go beyond flirting and break the tensions between them properly.

          “ isn’t  it  usually  me  having  to  pull  you  out  of  your  shell ? ”  he  teases  lightly,  before  letting  his  arms  fall  to  his  sides  and  stepping  closer.

“ alright,  alright, ”  he  finally  agrees,  letting  the  curiosity  of  what  paul  has  in  mind  win.  “ what’re  we  doing ?  it’s  not  bowling,  is  it ? ”
