What I say: I'm not Korean, but I like kpop.

What I mean: I like listening to kpop even though it's not in my native language. That doesn't mean I think Korea is superior to my country or that their culture is better than my own. It doesn't mean that I think Korea's musicians are greater than the musicians from my own country. It doesn't mean that I only find Asian men and women attractive. It just means it's different but I enjoy it anyway. Both countries have their strengths and weaknesses; I like and respect them both.

What people hear: I HATE WESTERN MUSIC IT'S HORRIBLE KOREA IS THE BEST THING EVA I TOTES HAVE AN ASIAN FETISH I WILL MARRY ONLY A KOREAN KPOP IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY AND YOU'RE WRONG IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME BECAUSE I'M AN INSULAR, CLOSE MINDED INDIVIDUAL WHO REFUSES TO SAY ANYTHING INTELLECTUAL ABOUT MUSIC BECAUSE I HAVE NO ACTUAL OPINIONS
