Crack theory about Undertaker’s obsession with the Phantomhives

Of course, I think he’s Cedric, but it might go deeper than that. Literally.

What if, when Cloudia/Claudia died, he was able to get to her body, but he didn’t yet have the resources or knowledge to turn her into a bizarre doll? At least nothing more than a mindless one, since he didn’t know about using their own “episodes”, and he didn’t like the idea of it. It’s also possible her body was too badly damaged to do much, and this was way before he started restoring real Ciel’s damaged body. Her injuries might be even worse. 😞

So… he takes parts of her cinematic records and attaches them to his own? His scars could even be from when he “harvested” her own cinematic records to do it.

His own desire to save the Phantomhives might be enhanced by hers. It might even help explain a major personality change, like going from being the serious “136649” (that Othello recalls) to the laughing “Undertaker”… and why he might be slowly losing his mind. It must be really hard for someone to deal with feeling like another person’s memories are their own.

We got a mere glimpse of the possibilities in “The Story of Will the Reaper” OVA, when Thomas’ cinematic records attack William and temporarily enter his brain. Though that OVA isn’t officially canon, it does come across as closer to canon than any pre-“Book of” anime OVA (“Book of Murder” is an OVA based on the murders arc). I had previously wondered if Undertaker was attacked by the cinematic records of Molly/Mally G., but perhaps he has actually attached others’ cinematic records to his own on purpose.
