I Hate When People Write Bucky As A Daddy, Mean Dom In Fics Because He Was Literally Sad And At One Point
I hate when people write Bucky as a “daddy, mean dom” in fics because he was literally sa’d and at one point possibly raped like that man would not hurt his partner in bed

Being Rafe’s girl…
He’s so messy
Date after Date
Avengers Bucky
Summary: You go out on dates that just feel weird to you, until you figure out why. Will Bucky make up for it?
Content warning: Slightly jealous Bucky, slight stalker-ish behaviour from Bucky, little intense Bucky, little fluff.

"Ok Nat, see you later, don't wait up!" you chuckled at your mission partner and friend.
She winked at you and waved to you over her shoulder.
"Have fun!" she called.
You made your way out of the tower and to the restaurant you were meeting your date at. It was only a few blocks away and the night was nice, so you decided to walk.
You had met David when he came into the tower and helped your tech team with some troubleshooting since he worked at Stark Industries. He was the main engineer on the project but for some reason, what was installed wasn't running smoothly so he came by to investigate.
You hit it off with him instantly, bonding over some nerdy things you secretly like. He asked you out for dinner and the rest was history.
You were a few buildings away, so you stopped and did a quick check in the window of a store. You straightened your dress, fluffed your hair, then proceeded to head inside the restaurant.
Bucky got wind of your date from Nat and decided he was going to check it out for himself. He had been harbouring a giant crush on you for a while but hasn't told anyone or done anything about it. When Nat mentioned you were going out on a date, he was devasted and mad at himself for not acting sooner, so this was his chance to do something about it.
In no way was he going to size up his competition, but he was going to make sure things were safe for you.
At least that was what he told himself.
He walked into the restaurant and saw David sitting at a table, drinking some water. Bucky snorted at the generic bouquet of flowers that sat next to him. You hated wildflowers since they always make you sneeze.
You prefer simple roses, no baby's breath.
Bucky had a good feeling about this while he walked up to the bar and ordered himself a drink. He smirked when he saw David take out his phone and check his teeth and hair in the camera. He watched him squirm in his seat when Bucky decided to pay him a visit.
"Hey."
Bucky sat down at the table and plunked his drink down in front of him.
David looked at him in shock.
"Hey, I know you." David looked at Bucky funny.
"Bucky Barnes!" David blurted out.
Bucky wasn't amused.
"Date night?"
Bucky glowered at David over his glass. David squirmed in his seat.
"Ah yeah." He was still confused why Bucky Barnes was sitting in front of him.
"Cool, cool. So listen...this is how it's going to go..."
Bucky set his glass down on the table and leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table.
David visibly gulped and watched his new tablemate intently. Even sitting down, Bucky towered over David.
"When Y/n gets here, you get up, give her a friendly hug, hand her the flowers, help her sit with her chair, make polite conversation, order your food, drinks, dessert, whatever she wants. Then you're going to pay, politely thank her for the date, then leave and never contact her again, got it?"
David looked at the man across from him and noted the Bucky from earlier was gone and replaced by the former Winter Soldier who was now staring him down.
David's face paled but he nodded frantically.
"Umm...Ok."
Bucky flashed a wicked smile then he reached out to David making him flinch and patted his arm.
"Good. Because if you don't, I will hunt you down and find you." He whispered low so only David could hear.
"Have a nice dinner, Dave. So glad to have met you."
Bucky winked, took his glass, and went back to the shadows of the bar to observe leaving David speechless.
You walked into the restaurant and spotted David sitting at a table.
"Hello!" You walked up to him.
He shot out of his seat instantly, looking towards the bar then back to you. You looked at him a little funny.
"H-Hi Y/n."
He gave you an awkward hug and hard pat on your back like one would to an old relative you haven't seen in a while.
"Here." David took the flowers and shoved them at you.
"For you." He was fidgeting.
"Uh, thanks?"
You took them and looked down at the pretty flowers. You smiled but sneezed when you placed them next to you.
"Sorry." You itched your nose. "Allergies, they've lovely though, so thanks." You shrugged.
A waitress came over and took your drink order. You noticed David was a little nervous.
"Are you ok?" You asked.
Gone was the friendly and confident guy you met earlier. His eyes shot to yours and he nodded frantically.
"Yup, all good here, good, going great." He quickly replied.
You eyed him for a few seconds then shrugged and looked over the menu.
"What's good here?" You asked out loud.
"Anything." David blurted out.
"Oh, ok."
Weird.
You ended up ordering the chicken parm while David ordered a salad.
"Is that going to be enough for you?"
"It's plenty." David replied.
Who were you to judge people's food choices, so you left it alone.
You chatted politely about work, some TV shows, new movies coming out. The conversation was a little weird and it felt like David was wincing every time he spoke. His mind was definitely pre-occupied with something.
Your food came and David scarfed his sad salad down at record speed. You felt like he lost interest in you the minute you saw him, so you chalked the night up to being a friendly dinner out, nothing more.
"Dessert?" You asked while the waitress took the empty plates.
"No, thank you." David smiled but it felt forced.
"Ok then. Well, I had a nice time David, thank you for dinner."
David forced a smile, looked back at the bar, then paid for the meal.
He walked you to the door but kept looking over his shoulder. He flagged a cab down for you, not wanting you to walk back to the tower.
"Goodnight, Y/n." He said before he stuffed you in the cab and high tailed it away.
You were a little shocked at his strange behaviour but shrugged as the driver headed back to the tower.
"Date go ok?" Nat asked from the lounge.
You flopped down on the chair in front of her and shrugged.
"Guess so. I mean the food was good, but David was...I don't know. He seemed out of it. Like he was nervous?" You questioned.
"I won't be seeing him again. Nice guy, but it was weird. The vibe was off."
Just as you got up from the couch, you saw Bucky wander into the kitchen and grab himself a bottled water.
"Well, you can't win them all." Nat shook her head.
"I know."
"I didn't think you wanted to date anyone or were looking?" she asked.
"Oh, I'd like to Nat. It's a little boring here. No offense, but I'd like to have another partner other than you." You chuckled making her roll her eyes.
"I've got a lot to give and I'm a little lonely." You admitted.
She looked between you and Bucky who was trying not to listen but was failing miserably.
"Anyways, night Nat." You smiled before you headed to your dorm.
"Night Bucky."
You waved to the super soldier, and he nodded. Nat looked at Bucky and narrowed her eyes.
"What?"
"Nothing."
She shook her head and went back to her file.
The next few weeks were boring as there wasn't any missions planned. You had your early morning gym time, and some weapons inspections do to, but it was quite boring around the tower.
You contemplated heading out to the compound for something to do but decided to stay behind.
You wandered over to the research team and noticed there was a few new faces.
"Rob? Is that you?" You looked at one of the researchers.
"Y/n!" He got up and walked over to you.
"Hey!"
You both hugged each other.
You were training partners at the shooting range for a few months before you separated and went into your chosen fields.
"Good to see you." He looked you up and down.
"Likewise."
You smiled and blushed a little. If you had both chosen the same field, you probably would have ended up dating Rob since you were so close with him in your training. He was a great support and partner to have at the academy.
"We should go out for drinks, catch up sometime." He smiled at you.
You gave him your number and he gave you his.
"This weekend then." You smiled before you left.
"Sounds good!" He waved before he went back to his desk.
You smiled and decided to find Nat to tell her.
"So drinks this Saturday with Rob." You giggled.
You told Nat you ran into Rob, your old training partner. She was happy for you and asked when the big night was.
You were both in the hangar organizing one of the jets.
"He's a good guy Nat. Smart and funny."
Nat put a few crates away. You didn't notice Bucky lurking by another jet.
"Anyways, I should go." You called to Nat who was finishing up.
"Sounds good. See you in the gym tomorrow."
She waved and watched you leave the hangar.
"You can stop lurking in the shadows now." Nat yelled over to where she saw Bucky earlier.
He peeked around a stack of crates and scowled at her.
"I'm not lurking, I'm..."
"Lurking?" Nat finished his sentence.
"What are you doing Barnes?" Nat crossed her arms over her chest.
"Nothing." Bucky shrugged.
He wandered over to the Jet.
"You into Y/n?" Nat asked.
Bucky's face went red.
"Don't answer that, it's all over your face. I can't believe I didn't pick up on it sooner." She rolled her eyes.
"No." Bucky insisted.
Nat's stare didn't falter.
"Fine." Bucky put his head down.
"You didn't have anything to do with her date last time, did you?" Nat raised her eyebrows up at him.
"No." Bucky glared back at her.
"Good, because if I find out you're meddling with her dates, I'm not going to be so happy, and neither will Y/n. Why don't you just tell her you like her?" Nat asked.
Bucky shook his head.
"I-I..." he stammered.
"You what? You don't think you deserve Y/n? You don't deserve to be happy? Come on Barnes. We're all messed up in our own way, but we still deserve to be happy. If you like Y/n, just tell her. She's a sweetheart."
"I know that!" Bucky spat at her.
She gave him a look.
"Sorry. I just...I'm not ready yet." Bucky admitted. "To date." he added.
"Fair enough. But you should tell her regardless. She deserves to know and if she's into you, she'll wait for you." Nat patted Bucky's arm then left.
Bucky thought about it as he surveyed the hangar.
A few days later, Bucky walked into the bar and spotted Rob right away. He noticed he was on his phone and was smiling to himself while he was typing away.
Bucky scowled at him and walked to the bar to get himself a drink. Bucky found some interesting information on him he was going to use before you got to the bar.
Just as Bucky got his drink, he wandered over to Rob's table and placed his drink down on it and glared at him. Rob looked up from his phone and his eyes went wide.
"Rob." Bucky nodded as he sipped his drink.
"Sergeant Barnes." Rob stammered and put his phone on the table.
"Who are you texting?" Bucky nodded at Rob's phone.
His face went red.
"N-no one. Co-workers and what not, work stuff, you know how it is." Rob smiled, but it was forced.
"It wouldn't be Robin by chance, would it? What about Megan? Or are you still seeing Candace?" asked Bucky.
Rob's face was red as a tomato.
"You're a serial dater Rob and Y/n isn't looking to be added to your list of conquests. She's looking for a relationship." Bucky sipped his drink.
"It's not like that." Rob stammered.
Bucky's eyebrows rose up at him then he leaned in close.
"Don't think I don't know about the sex club you visit every Thursday and Friday nights Rob." Rob's eyes bugged out of his head.
"I'm sure Y/n would love to hear all about it" Bucky placed his drink down.
"I just drink there, nothing else." Rob insisted, and Bucky scoffed.
"Right, sure you do Rob. I know all your preferences and fetishes, complete with feather play and your submissiveness Rob. Read them on your information sheet the club keeps. They're not as secure as they think they are." Bucky winked at him.
"I-I..."
"When Y/n gets here, you're going to have a polite conversation with her. Catch up on old times, but nothing more. She's a good girl and doesn't need to get involved with your games and roleplays."
"That's not...I mean I-I'm not into that..." Rob faltered.
Bucky saw he got multiple texts on his phone, none of them from you and he smirked.
Rob looked at one of them and his face paled.
"Oh, those women you're messing around with. I sent them your list of fetishes as well as each of their contact information so they can get together and swap stories about you. You told each of them you were exclusive did you not? Well, now they know what a freak you are, and I am sure have a lot of questions seeing as how none of them go with you to the club. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be over by the bar watching you. You better treat Y/n with the respect she deserves, or else." he lowered his voice on the 'or else' part making Rob gulp.
"Hi Rob" you smiled while making your way to Rob's table.
He didn't get up from his spot but gave you a weird wave.
"Want a drink?" He blurted out.
"Oh, sure."
He flagged over a waitress who took your order. You thought he was being a little reserved but didn't question him further. You chatted and caught up with each other in the few years since you had seen him. It was nice to chat with him, but he was being aloof and distant with one-word answers, nothing like how you remember him.
Although he was handsome, he didn't give you those butterflies you had always hoped you would get.
You finished your one drink and decided to call it a night. You smiled at Rob and wished him a nice night, then you left the bar, eager to get back to the tower.
"Ugh!"
You flopped into the chair at the dining room table. Nat had some folders spread out and a cup of tea cooling next to her.
"How were drinks with Rob?" she asked.
You glared at her and shook your head.
"Not again." She watched you.
"It was fine. Rob is fine. But it was weird again. Almost like he was just being polite and a little withdrawn." You shrugged.
You looked at the files and put them back down. You saw Bucky walk past the dining room and you smiled at him making him blush a little. Nat leaned back in her chair and folded her arms across her chest.
"Anyways, night then. I'm going for a bath."
You left the dining room to head to your dorm to relax.
"Another one Barnes?" Nat called from her spot at the table.
She heard footsteps and then the doorframe creak. Bucky leaned against it.
"Don't know what you're talking about" he shrugged.
"You better tell her." Nat warned.
Bucky glared at her then he let out a huff and left the room.
"Idiot." Nat muttered to herself while she flipped through a folder.
"Hey Bucky!" You waved at the super soldier.
You had poured yourself a cup of coffee and was sitting at the kitchen table in the main dining area. It had been a few days since your weird bar date with Rob.
"Hi."
He grabbed an apple and sat across from you.
"What do you have planned today?" you asked.
Bucky smiled and looked down at the table.
"Not much."
He shrugged, biting into the apple. You always liked Bucky. He was nice, polite, and he was funny if you got him talking. He was quiet and mostly kept to himself. On missions, he was a great partner and always had your back.
"Hey Y/n."
Nat waved as she wandered into the kitchen.
"Hey Nat."
"Movie night tonight?" she asked.
"Can't. I have a date." Your face flushed.
Nat looked at you, then Bucky, then back to you.
"With who?"
"Graham."
You blushed when you said his name.
"The trainer?"
"That's the one." You smiled.
"He asked me to dinner, and I said yes." you shrugged.
"Wow, Y/n sure has a lot of dates doesn't she Bucky?" Nat slapped him on the back, and he scowled at her then shrugged.
"Anyways, see you later. I'm meeting him at 7 at the new place on 94th Street." You said before you left to get ready.
Nat glared at Bucky.
"Don't go." She warned.
"What?" Bucky held up his arms.
"Graham is a good man Bucky. Leave Y/n alone." Nat said which made Bucky grumble.
He got up from the table in a huff and threw out his apple core before he turned and saw you standing in the hallway at the entrance to the kitchen.
"What's going on?" You folded your arms across your chest and tapped your foot on the ground.
Nat got up and left through the other side leaving you and Bucky alone.
"It's not what it sounds like." Bucky chuckled.
You were not chuckling.
"Did you interfere with my dates Bucky?" you asked.
He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. You glared at him.
"Kind of?" He whispered.
You frowned.
"Why?" you asked, genuinely confused.
Why would Bucky interfere with your dates? He stood there in silence for a few minutes before he let out a deep breath.
"Because I like you." He quietly mumbled.
Your eyes grew wide.
"You what?" You were shocked.
"Because I like you." He said more loudly.
Your stomach had butterflies in it from his admission, but you were pissed.
"So instead of telling me, you decided to interfere with my dates?" Bucky winced.
It sounded worse when you said it that way.
"Y/n, I-I didn't mean to. I had wanted to go to the first one to make sure you were safe, that's all." Bucky insisted.
"You think I can't take care of myself?" You yelled, balling your fists up at your side.
"No! That's not...that's not what I meant." Bucky stammered.
"Then enlighten me. You ruined two of my dates Bucky!" you growled at him.
"I know Y/n and I'm sorry. I feel bad. Well, not about sex addict Rob, but the other one...Dan or whatever his name was."
"What?" You looked at him funny.
"Never mind"
"Ugh!" you scowled at him.
"This isn't over Bucky. I have to go and get ready since it wouldn't be fair to cancel on Graham last minute, but we're talking later. PLEASE don't follow me tonight!" You pointed your finger at him in caution before you turned to leave.
Bucky rubbed his face with his hand and let out a sigh.
"You're going then?" Nat asked from the other hallway.
"Obviously." Bucky winked at her and then left making Nat snort.
You got to the restaurant early for once and didn't see Graham anywhere, so you decided to get a table and relax before he arrived.
You ordered some wine and looked over the menu for something to do.
Graham was late, about 15 minutes late so you texted him, but there was no reply.
Your stomach lurched thinking Bucky had something to do with his lateness, but he promised you he wouldn't intervene. You scowled in thought, but your stomach betrayed you when you thought back to what Bucky had said. That he liked you. You smiled to yourself thinking about all the times he has been at your side.
Sure, he can be intense at times, but underneath his sometimes-harsh exterior is a caring and sweet man who's been through a lot.
You smiled to yourself thinking about Bucky liking you when you felt like you were being watched.
Instantly, your senses took control as you looked around the restaurant but didn't see anything out of order. You looked over the tables of couples and families while you moved your gaze to the bar. Your heart fluttered as you locked eyes with a set of piercing blue ones who were watching your every move.
He's here.
You flagged your waitress down and told her you were going to the bathroom and not to give your table up and she smiled and nodded before she walked away.
You wandered over to the bar and stopped in front of Bucky.
"I told you not to come here." You poked him in his very firm chest.
He shrugged.
"I'm thirsty." Bucky shrugged.
You scowled.
"Where's your date?" Bucky asked.
"He's not here yet."
"He's late then?"
Bucky looked towards the door then back at you.
"Did YOU have something to do with it?" you asked.
Bucky snorted then he took a sip of his beer. You eyed him up and down.
"Fine, but when he gets here, no scowling at him or us please. Just leave us alone. We'll talk later about this." You whispered at him.
He held his hands up in surrender then smirked at your retreating back.
You walked back to the table and gulped the last of your wine down.
"Another?" The waitress asked.
"Please." You smiled.
You looked at the time and Graham was officially 30 minutes late.
You were not impressed.
The wait staff keep eyeing you up and hinted they wanted you to either order a meal or leave since you were taking up valuable space on a busy night. You checked your phone again and nothing was from Graham.
You heard whispers around you and people were watching you sit at an empty table alone, dressed nice, nursing a glass of wine or two. They knew you had been stood up and you felt like a moron sitting there when suddenly the chair across from you moved and Bucky sat down.
"Sorry I'm late." He announced loudly to the crowd around you.
You sat there with your mouth open in shock.
He picked up the menu and looked it over.
"What are you doing?" You whispered at him.
"We're having dinner, you and me. Your date didn't show, so I'm here in his place. Saves me from having to make reservations for our own date. His loss and I'm hungry." Bucky shrugged and ordered another drink when the waitress came by.
"Oh good, he's here." She winked at you.
"Uh, yes?" You answered her like she asked you a question.
"Be right back then." She smiled.
You watched Bucky looking at the menu.
"What are you going to have?" he asked.
"I think the steak for me with a baked potato." He placed the menu down.
"Uh, chicken." You answered.
"Good choice."
The waitress came by and took your orders, then left you alone with Bucky.
"I didn't want to see you sitting here alone anymore, so I came over."
You didn't know whether to punch him or kiss him so you smiled at him.
"Thanks for that." You mumbled and took a sip of wine.
Food was served and you had a good conversation with Bucky. It felt like a normal date. He was funny, polite, he listened, asked you questions, it was nice. The meal ended and Bucky insisted he pay for the meal.
"Fine, next time, I pay."
"Next time?" Bucky questioned.
You playfully smacked his chest before you left the restaurant.
He walked you back to the tower and up to your dorm.
"Well, thank you for being there for me tonight."
"No problem."
You could tell he was nervous. He fidgeted with his jacket pocket.
"Anyways, I should go..." You pointed to your door but still stood in front of Bucky.
He took one step towards you making your breath hitch slightly.
"Doll, I was serious earlier. I like you. A lot. Could you forgive me for ruining your dates?" he whispered.
Your heart was beating fast. You looked him over and leaned into him, giving him a kiss on his cheek.
"I think I can."
You smiled at him, then turned to your room and smiled at him before you closed the door and locked it.
Bucky stood there smiling to himself, feeling relieved his secret was out and you knew how he felt about you.
Now all he had to do was go and unlock Graham from the storage closet of the gym, make him delete your number, and give him back his phone before he went to bed.
That’s so cute oml
puppy definitely has little sanrio or puppy charms on her bag!! johnbee can hear her before he sees her. (⋟﹏⋞)
puppy jangles when she walks <3333 i feel like all the girls jingle jangle in their own way. puppy jangles from her charms……. kitty from the little bell on her neck that jj gave her (otherwise she’s DEADLY silent), bunny from her earrings and bracelets, deer from something random like the crystals in her pockets
stop 😕😕
do you think bc bunny was put in all those pageants and stuff that she didn’t get to have full childhood? if that makes sense
yeah kind of! she was kind of just made to believe that all of her values were based on her looks from a young age because of her mother — so she didn’t ever really get to feel like a kid, moreso like a product / object?
don’t get me wrong she loves dressing up and doing her hair and makeup and all that stuff, but it’s moreso now because it feels like a choice as an adult — so she’s kind of reclaiming that power in a way and dressing strictly for herself (and rafe, but because she wants to ultimately)
the lack of childhood shows more in her personality which is why she loves rafe so much because she gets to depend on him the way she should have been allowed as a kid. she doesn’t have to do much thinking around him and she trusts that he will keep her safe — something she didn’t get to experience much unfortunately.
when briefly dropping that lore into conversation with rafe, his simple reaction of “why the hell would you put a goddamn child on display like that?” shaking his head with distant disgust on his face— she starts to see things a little differently, and also started to trust rafe’s judgement a lot more! he’s crazy but when it comes to women and children he knows right from wrong lol
Why don’t we talk abt the fact that Bucky got nudes when he was on a dating app 😭
