finally got the time to play the ValiDate demo and it’s SOOOOO UGH it’s on steam free gogogogo!!! 

what's your thought process for picking/applying colors?? I spend so much time looking at your art and you seem to mix in beautiful blues/oranges/yellows/purples/etc in places I wouldn't expect! Like black/dark hair might have orange in it or orange hair might have blue in it!! And like the way you do clothing, it could have any range of colors, but some how it all works together so nicely!!!

The first thing I did before picking colors is limiting the colors I’m gonna use, my color swatches are actually very limited (below is my swatches on photoshop, I mostly use the colors on the 3 bottom rows) that’s why I often use blue, turquoise, and orange! (and because they’re my favorite colors 👀)

I usually use blue for shading if orange is the lighting and orange for the shading if blue is the lighting, they’re pretty much a complementary colors so they would look well together like these pieces for example.

I usually add extra tints at the end after determining the light source and base colors like the ultramarine blue accents on the last pic :D
