• jj laughs at friendship bracelets but he wants one so bad.

• he really likes it when kiara or pope start rambling about smartass - as he puts it - things and he can't understand shit. he likes to listen to them.

• and boy is he a great listener

• wants to have two kids and teach them how to surf.

• considered joining the selling weed business but pope convinced him it was a horrible idea.

• he really likes how vanilla smells but doesn't like the taste

• also, jj's favorite color is blue

• and green

• and he likes red a lot

• oh and also grey

• and that's probably what he'd say if you ask him

• he can't decide

• he was the kid that when someone was going to buy him an ice-cream he would collapse at the time of choosing between chocolate and strawberry

• then ended up always picking strawberry

• because he doesn't like the little pieces of chocolate that the ice-cream brings.

• jj takes the most stupid decisions when he is stressed

• also when he is not because stupid decisions have good outcomes all the time.

• he has family on florida, but he only saw them once - it's the family of the cousin with the dolls.

• kiwis makes his tongue itch.

• would let his girl friends - as in friends who are girls - put make up on him and paint his nails in the most horrible colors, as long as they take it off afterwards and take no pictures.

• he has this cozy big grey sweatshirt and cozy grey sweatpants he wears 24/7 on winter and cold summer nights

• he's very private about his nights and the girls he hooks up with. when he does brag, he gives no names unless he is talking to kie - his biggest confidant.

• jj has no feeling for kie lol fuck it

• hates school

• for some reason he's really good at physical education and chemistry.

• john b teased him for months about liking chemistry.

• he has like, what, five jobs and likes none of them because he still hasn't gotten over the fact he will never be able to be a kook.

• he's banned from mcdonald's for life

• pope has to get his happy meals.

• taco bell >>> mcdonald's

• happy meal >>> everything else

• survives on junk, fatty, processed food and only works out on his own for like one day every two weeks

• and john b hates him for it.

• has a thing for cherry chapstick. drives him crazy.

• he would be good at spanish if he at least tried.

• you bet he has a drawer with clothes of his own in all his friends' rooms - and at ricky's too.

• he feels cold easily, even on summer.

• and he gets like a baby when he is cold.

• he throws tantrums, a lot.

• jj's in dire need of attention.

• he pets every single dog he sees on the street. he's going late to work? doesn't matter, he's taking his time to pet the fucking dog anyways.

• most loyal friends (and boyfriends). CANON.

• he'll defend you with his life, even if he knows you're not right.

jj deserves the world i love him so much. i impulsively started a jj fic and most of these headcanons are canon in my fic. still i feel like these are not a lot so maybe there will be a second part?

• can't play the guitar for shit but he's the best with drums. i'm telling ya.

• secretly loves taylor swift. he goes feral every time reputation plays.

• heavy metal and punk rock bands are always a yes on his playlists.

• jj has a different hand shake for every pogue. his favorite is the one he has with sarah.

• he binge-watched the office in less than a week.

• he's the type that has illegal, pirated netflix. or that shares an account with his friends but doesn't pay for shit.

• jj is a directioner, change my mind.

• is afraid of seagulls, which is pretty funny considering he lives in an island.

• is a dyslexic motherfucker.

• i think that has been so headcanoned it's already canon.

• omg when this boy discovered chase atlantic... he couldn't shut up about them.

• i'm so sure music is an important part of jj's life. it's one of the few coping mechanisms he has, it allows him to leave the outer banks and his shitty household.

• jj doesn't read much, but macbeth was a school read and he did read it. he actually liked it a lot but never handed in the assigment that needed to be done with the reading of the book.

• he doesn't like horror/scary movies. they creep him out, even though he would never admit it.

• he has stolen all the rings he owns. jj hasn't bought any of them.

• by the way jj only steals from people he doesn't like.

• has HUGE respect for/to heyward. the man is a legend.

• when he was little, he used to like playing with dolls. his father slapped him when he caught him playing with his cousin's dolls, and then threw those away.

• jj was the kind of kid that always wore bandaids on his kneecaps and nose.

• he was horrible playing at football but his father forced him to train in the football team for like almost ten years.

• first trip he wants to do if he does ever get out of the outer banks is to hawaii. he has no reason, he just saw lilo & stitch when he was little and then a documentary about hawaii and he has that hyperfixation.

• also, jj has tons of hyperfixation that usually change every month. some of them remain longer, though.

• and you bet he is a disney kid.

• his favorite princess is jasmine because she's badass. and his favorite "prince" is aladdin, of course.

• knows by heart the lyrics to a whole new world.

• and to every disney movie ever, to be honest.

• he jams to old, surfer vibes songs.

• most of his clothes are thrifted or he has inherited them. first because it's cheaper, second because it's free.

• when he was little he wanted to be a doctor and then an astronaut. then, a doctor who was also an astronaut.

• as soon as he found out how difficult both careers were, he threw the idea away.

• looks up to his cousin ricky a lot. man is a legend to him.

• i headcanon jj either as a gemini or a leo. i accept no criticism about this.

• has like a shit ton of secret playlists on a secret account so no one stalks him.

• boy has anger issues.

• he doesn't quite like crabs.

• except for sebastian. wait no, sebastian's a lobster i think.

• biggest fear: abandonment. he knows all his friends are some day going to move out of that island and he is going to end up alone.

• he doesn't even liked weed, he just likes the numb, happy feeling.

• he wanted a dog when he was little and his father told him that "if it cannot pee on the toilet, it can't live on a house"

• he considered training the dog to make it pee on the toilet, john b convinced him it wasn't going to work.

Maya Brady has both her feet on Kook's life, but still chose to befriend a bunch of Pogue kids. She's cool, I guess. Kind, with an easy smile, fun to be with... We've been friends since the second grade, when she came into town. I think she used to live in The City. I don't know, I've never asked her.

Maya only cares about surfing, clothes, having fun, her family and her friends - us, who are kind of like her second family. She's JJ's best friend, although they may look like a couple. Always snuggling with each other, iugh. I think there's something going on between the two of them- But I'm sure JJ thinks a girl like Maya doesn't deserve a guy like him. Doesn't matter, anyways, 'cause Maya has a boyfriend, a not-so-kind Kook"

MAYA BRADY WAS LIKE a ray of sunshine in the Caribbean, blue-green waters. Easy going, funny, caring. Blonde, tanned and with brown eyes. Like a summer breeze on an extremely hot day. Like the waves crashing against the rocks of the Outer Banks. But most of all, Maya Brady was lucky. 

Born into a good family, with a caring dad and a loving brother, with good money and a huge future ahead; Maya Brady was way luckier than half of the kids at the Outer Banks. Of course Maya was never meant to end on the Outer Banks, her life was in New York City and that was the way it was written. However, an old good friend of Robert Brady, Ward Cameron, convinced him to move to Paradise Island, where you either had two jobs or two houses. Guess which option the Bradys had.

Moving to Outer Banks was probably the best thing that could have possibly happened to Maya. She made friends quickly, starting with a really smart, kind of shy kid named Pope Heyward and ending in a Pogue group, with that boy and three other kids. Kiara Carrera had been a bit reluctant at first with having Maya join the group, those boys were her only friends and she wanted to protect them and keep them for herself, but Maya grew on her. John Booker Routedge quickly became friends with Maya, because he was just as friendly as she was. And JJ Maybank… he won Maya's heart over, flaunting Maya's best friend position. And now they were all family. 

THAT SUMMER was supposed to be the best summer of their lives. They were going to have a good time, all the time. Fishing, laughing, doing nothing and absolutely everything at the same time. It was going to be wild. 

But when a treasure ship enters the game, making a twist in their lives, they begin a treasure hunt that turns out to be way more dangerous than what they had expected. Now it was either getting the treasure or dying trying, especially when enemies began to arise from those who were friends. Oh, and also, Maya had to deal with love. Because what is sweeter and more dangerous than a teenager in love?

I hope in season 3 we get some Rafe x a therapist
