Summary: JJ goes to Y/N after a hard fight with his dad.

Author's note: This is kind of short but i felt like writing it because jj angsty content is something that attacks me too close. Reader and JJ are in an established relationship and words between parenthesis are text messages. Bold for JJ, italic for reader.

The Chateau was attacked by the wind outside, a hot wind that made bodies damp and sweat because of the contrast between the two temperatures. No one could really escape it, unless you were rich and had an air conditioner or a fan that really worked, for the open windows only allowed the hot wind to enter the houses easily. That was summer on the Outer Banks, burning hot sunny days and sweaty but damp nights. 

You took your v-neck t-shirt off, in order to not choke yourself because of the head, finding zero satisfaction when your skin kept feeling as sticky and hot as it did with the piece of cloth on. Shifting uncomfortably on the sofa-bed in the living room, where you were forced to sleep because Pope had locked himself in the spare bedroom, claiming it, you threw your hand over your forehead. You closed your eyes, trying to calm yourself down in order to fall asleep in the heat of the night. And then your phone vibrated in your pocket. You took it out of your pocket and shot a short glance at the screen, paying more attention when you saw they were some messages from JJ.

The rushed ending of the text worried you but you held yourself from freaking out. It was difficult, though, because you knew he had been at his house and you knew how that could end. You picked at your nails, as you then again shifted uncomfortably on the bed. Now the head was your least important problem.

JJ took a long time to arrive at the Chateau, and when he entered through the door you realized you couldn't blame him for it. 

A black eye, furious scratches on his neck, a trail of bruises through his jaw until they reached his cheekbone, and some bleeding knuckles. The look on his face was exhausted, overwhelmed and overcome with the situation, and you felt like crying when you saw him. He looked at you on the edge, both of exploding and of tears. 

"JJ, baby," you got up from the bed and took his hand in yours. He was as cold as a dead body and your own body temperature dropped ", I'll clean you up, 'kay?"

In silence, because he felt he would start crying if he talked, JJ nodded and let you drag him to the bed. While you searched for the first aid kit, he watched your moves while bouncing his left leg to relieve his anxiety. 

You sat down next to him once you had the kit in your hands, and gently caressed his hand, taking him by surprise and making him look at you.

"Cool, okay?" you muttered gently, to calm him down "You're safe with me now, J"

Again, he nodded in silence. Once his leg stopped bouncing so fast you started cleaning his wounds. You began with his knuckles, red, bloody and hurt. Then went up to the scratched on his neck, and jaw, ending on his lip, tearing him softly so it wouldn't hurt that bad. He still whined, whimpered, gasped, and sobbed until he broke down in tears, right after you had gotten up to take some frozen peas to sooth his multiple bruises and his black eye. Hearing JJ sob loudly made you stop right on your feet and turn around to look at him, your heart aching when you saw him hurt like that. 

"I'm so sorry, J" you murmured, forgetting about the frozen peas and walking towards him. 

You kneeled in between his legs and rested your head on his thigh, your hand going up to make his and lock your fingers together. He sobbed louder. 

"I'm sorry-" he tried to say, but another son came and cut him off. 

You shook your head "Is not even your fault, babe. You shouldn't be going through this and I'm so sorry you are"

JJ looked into your eyes, tears mindlessly rolling down his cheeks. His eyes asked for a hug, and you sat next to him in the bed and threw your hands around him, holding him close to your chest and body. 

"I'm okay" JJ whispered, nodding with his head, trying to convince himself about it. 

"It's okay if you're not, J," you whispered back, the hand that wasn't squeezing tight his went up his hair to caress his golden locks, which always calmed him down ", but you'll be. I know you'll be"

jj deserves the world i love him so much. i impulsively started a jj fic and most of these headcanons are canon in my fic. still i feel like these are not a lot so maybe there will be a second part?

• he doesn't like horror/scary movies. they creep him out, even though he would never admit it.

• he has stolen all the rings he owns. jj hasn't bought any of them.

• by the way jj only steals from people he doesn't like.

• has HUGE respect for/to heyward. the man is a legend.

• when he was little, he used to like playing with dolls. his father slapped him when he caught him playing with his cousin's dolls, and then threw those away.

• jj was the kind of kid that always wore bandaids on his kneecaps and nose.

• he was horrible playing at football but his father forced him to train in the football team for like almost ten years.

• first trip he wants to do if he does ever get out of the outer banks is to hawaii. he has no reason, he just saw lilo & stitch when he was little and then a documentary about hawaii and he has that hyperfixation.

• also, jj has tons of hyperfixation that usually change every month. some of them remain longer, though.

• and you bet he is a disney kid.

• his favorite princess is jasmine because she's badass. and his favorite "prince" is aladdin, of course.

i'm literally not used to this kind of attention to anything i write because people around me either get tired of my long ass fanfictions, the way i have a new wip idea every week or i guess they just don't have the time for it </3

i literally came here writing some short ass things because i wanted to tried out writing here for a while now and now i'm getting a few reblogs, some requests, not every day but more requests than i expected, and likes every day and that's just... wow. i've been working so hard and for so long to get my writing to a decent point so i could make people like me happy with their beloved characters and to make me in the process happy, either by fics or just short shots like everything i have posted here. i have so many projects and ideas and i would like to start posting long ass fics in here and go back to wattpad and get seriously started in ao3.
