i dont rlly like when people talk abt makeup as if its like the end all be all of evil. the makeup industry has add and sometimes still does have fucked up ways to make women and girls specifically want to buy their product. but i feel like the conversations people have abt it just arent rlly nuanced. theres a side who will tell u to stop doing your makeup all together for various reasons but like people dont take into consideration that its something others enjoy. humans have been putting on makeup since anciet egypt u cant be telling people to give up on their hobbies completely. have some actually productive advice, tell them abt good women owened brands that has affordable products, talk about shopping mindfully and not buying from companies who only advertise to u saying their products will make u more appealing.
