As much as I want to believe Severus and Minerva had a close friendship/deep bond- it’s just- not that believable. They might’ve been friends but really close? No.
Minerva was Severus’ transfiguration professor when he was a student. She was there when the Marauders tormented him along with Dumbledore and a couple other professors. At most she gave the Marauders detentions because we know that’s the punishment they got for their behavior, but that’s it. We also know Minerva has favorites and favors gryffindor students.
I just don’t see Severus being close nit-friends with someone that supported and basically worshiped/glorified his tormentors. Which almost if not everyone did.
So unfortunately they wouldn’t have been extremely close. Maybe close acquaintances or just friends, but definitely not really close friends. I will admit however, they made an iconic duo.
