Since I’m new here, time to introduce my baby! (and use lots of silly emoji)

🍎 The Apple Mage 🍎

Is a game I’m currently conceptualizing and developing about an Applekin named Red, and her quest to save her Granny from the evil Doctor Cyanides clutches!

Here’s all of the protagonists lined up!

🍎 Red was "picked" from the Great Tree by a hermit she likes to call Granny Smith. She's a lover of all things magic after growing up in the presence of a literal master. She aims to be just like her when she grows up but she’s a little clumsy with her magic. Hey, she's trying her best! The rhythm of the earth is a just a little hard to follow sometimes! (Did I mention magic is dance based? It is) She cares a ridiculous amount about family and isn’t quite as meek as she looks when it comes to protecting the people she cares about! She’s not always happy though. Lately, she’s been plagued with dreams of other lives.

🍏 Granny The locals though seem to think Granny is just a weird reclusive hermit, but she knows much more about things than she lets on. She protects the Great Tree, the tree that births all Applekin and also the one that grants them their “immortality” through a kind of reincarnation. It has to be protected because without it, Applekin cease to exist. She’s also incredibly overbearing to Red, and a lot overprotective. It seems like her priorities are straight at least, but there’s definitely a few loose screws in there! She’s your typical eccentric grandma.

😞 Despite Granny’s pleas for her not to leave home, Red still wants to go out there and learn how to master magic! She enrolls in a school that can teach her just how. Magic comes naturally to all Applekin, but an Apple Mage makes it their whole life's work to study the inner workings of their magic.

Synopsis

When Red is caught in an earthquake on the way to her first day of classes, she rushes back home to check on granny. What she finds leads her into a quest to find her grandma, and ultimately save the world.

She also meets these cool characters 👀

😤 Crabby is a jaded manager of a family diner. She's always craved adventure though, and doesn't care for food service. She's the kinda person to fight rather than flee, and sometimes she picks the fights too!

👶 Jonagold is a lil cutie who got lost in the scuffle of the earthquake from his mother. He joins the team to find her, and tries to master his premature magic powers on the way.

And there's a lot more! There's only so much I can really say without spoiling it, so just want to share the general idea with everyone because I love this thing! It's been through a lot of medium changes, it was first a show pitch and then a comic and now l've just decided to make a whole rpg about it! It'll be in development for years to come but want people to be excited for it, so I post art and things for it from time to time just to keep folks interested!

as a tumblr noob, I never understood the reblog etiquette

Okay reblog if you’re an artist who STRONGLY PREFERS reblogs with commentary

People are apparently under the impression that reblogging someone’s art and adding a comment is frowned upon and that can’t possibly be true, every artist I know of sees a reblog-comment as like the ultimate definitive reward for their hard work.

Obviously don’t feel bad for NOT adding a comment if you’re shy or just don’t know what to say, but if there’s something you would like to say about a drawing you’ve liked enough to reblog, I’m pretty sure most artists crave hearing it.
