Hyerin and Johnny hadn't spoke since then, the Sunday and Saturday being oddly reposeful for Hyerin as she hadn't heard anything from Johnny. Not even the annoying texts aggravating her about homework.
It was a Monday morning as Hyerin woke up - surprisingly early today- she couldn't sleep the day before, suffering from insomnia. She spent the night tossing and turning in bed, worrying about her homework and the pysch test she would have the day after. Rubbing her eyes open, she yawned as she checked her phone on the desk adjacent to her warm bed.
10 missed calls from That Lady
Click to message or call back
The notification popped up on her screen, scrambling for her glasses, Hyerin read the text as her brows furrowed in scepticism. Her mom had left her endless texts and calls in concern, all of them about her apartment rent and something about the dorms.
Checking her alarm clock, Hyerin figured she had enough time to call her back. The phone rang a few times before her mom picked up, bringing her device up to her ear.
“Mom?”
“ah Hyerin, I needed to talk to you about your apartment.”
Hyerin felt nervous, what could she possibly need to talk about though? She always paid her rent on time. Hyerin cautiously replied.
“what about it?”
“well your dad and I decided that you would be better off living in the uni dorms. There are way too many accidents happening in your area!”
“Mom, I'm fine where I am already, plus nothing bad has happened-”
“yet. Nothing bad has happened yet. Which is why your father and I applied you for the dorms, you move in on Wednesday.”
“mom!”
Hyerin groaned in irritation. Why would they do it without even telling her first?
“Tell them you changed your mind. I'm not living with unsanitary people who can't clean!”
She heard a sigh at the other end of the line
“I can't do that, we agreed this would be best. End of decision. Call me back when you like the idea.”
The line disconnected as Hyerin groaned once more. Why the hell should she have to move? Campus dorms sucked and you wouldn't know if your roommate was a killer or not.
‘great. Just great.’
Hyerin dragged her body off of the bed to the bathroom, getting ready for the day.

Hyerin sluggishly walked down campus, her phone gripped in one hand as she slung her black back pack on her right shoulder. She was scrolling through social media, liking people's posts and envying the aesthetic food that people had created.
‘grrrrrrr’
She looked down as her stomach grumbled.
‘ah,’ she thought. ‘I forgot to eat breakfast.’
As if on cue, she heard her name from afar.
“Hyerinnnnnnnn!!!!!”
Her named echoed around them as she faced behind her, watching as two people caught up to her.
Minhee and a rather handsome boy ran up to them, the boy patting Minhee’s back as she tried to regain composure. Rolling her eyes, Hyerin slid her phone into her pocket and looked at the breathless girl.
“I brought you *pant* breakfast, our mom sent us food and *pant* snacks from Thailand.”
Coughing a few times, Minhee snatched the plastic bag from the boy's hold and thrusted it into Hyerin's arms.
The boy next to her faked coughed signalling his presence. He had short black hair which parted to the side, he wore black sweat pants and a large grey hoody and his eyes were crinkled up into tiny crescent shapes as he smiled.
After realising another person was there, Hyerin turned towards him and bowed, which he happily returned.
“Hi, I'm Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, this idiotic girl's brother.”
Cocking her head at the name, her expression wore a quizzical look as she moved her head towards Minhee, signalling for more detail.
“I know, our names are long. Just call him porn.” Her smirk widening as the boy playfully slapped her shoulder.
“Ten is my nickname, ya know, cuz I'm Ten outta ten in looks and skills. Especially dancing."
The boy winked before receiving a slap from Minhee. Her eyes rolling as she scoffed, excusing them for his disgruntled behaviour.
“Yah, one day your eyes will roll out of your head and detatch from their sockets”.
Ten scolded next to her, which -to Hyerin's amusement- initiated a rather interesting argument.
Awkwardly, Hyerin slowly backed away from the pair, taking the snacks.
“uhhhhhhhhh thanks for the food? I gotta go now so-.”
Hyerin told the siblings, even though they paid no attention whatsoever. Hyerin turned on her heel and quickly dashed inside of the building, escaping the bickering siblings. She wasn't about to be involved in a family argument. That shit isn't her forte.
Passing through the rather quiet hallway, she made her way into the lecture Hall. The hall was quite big, nothing like those tiny classrooms in high school. There were lots of different seats that faced the front of the hall, in which her lecturer would stand and talk on and on about how mathematics is useful for real life and how it changed his own.
Peering through the doorway, she spotted a few people who already claimed their seats, not surprisingly at the back of the hall. Hyerin decided to actually pay attention for once, it was time to be productive. She walked over to the middle, front seat and layed her bag on the desk as she began to take out her notebooks and stationary.
‘I'm going to fucking pass economics!’
She thought triumphantly as her motivation rapidly increased.

Groaning, Hyerin walked out of campus.
‘today was shit.’
She scowled, she couldn't pay attention during the lecture. The boy next to her kept bouncing his leg up and down, while tapping his hands against the table rhythmically. Then the girl next to her on her left kept taking selfies whenever their teacher turned his back, occasionally turning to Hyerin asking if her hair or makeup was okay.
It was hell. Maybe, just maybe, she missed sitting next to Johnny. At least he wasn't a narcissistic bitch who kept looking at themselves, or that one person who makes lots of irritating sounds during the lesson. He was decent compared to them.
Hyerin slapped her head, she needed to stop thinking about him. She was supposed to hate him. Releasing a sigh, she opened the door of the café which she had now faced.
‘yay, work.’ she thought.
She was greeted by Minhee at the counter, the smaller girl grinning in delight before handing Hyerin her uniform. Neither of them were lucky, Hyerin had morning classes that lasted until noon, whilst Minhee only had one morning class, however returning to the school for evening classes. Of course, these varied depending on the days.
Immediately putting on her uniform, Hyerin managed the front counter, mentally preparing herself. The chimes of the door rang - a noise that she had come to hate- which revealed Johnny, who came in striding with his hair slicked back up and his rolex watch on full display.
Looking up, Hyerin watched as the boy smiled with glee at her. To be honest ,she hated him a little less, with what happened on Friday and all that. She was at least thankful, but she still hated him. Asking in a emotionless voice, Hyerin queried the boy of his drink of selection.
“hello, what would you like to order?”
Johnny frowned, he thought at least she would have smiled, nevertheless he continued to smile back at her
