Faebruary 7th - Cait Sith

The cait-sìth is a fairy creature from Celtic mythology, said to resemble a large black cat with a white spot on its chest. Legend has it that the spectral cat haunts the Scottish Highlands. The legends surrounding this creature are more common in Scottish folklore, but a few occur in Irish. Some common folklore suggested that the cat-sìth was not a fairy, but a witch that could transform into a cat nine times. 

They believed that it could steal a person’s soul, before it was claimed by the gods, by passing over a corpse before burial; therefore, watches called the Fèill Fhadalach (Late Wake) were performed night and day to keep the cat-sìth away from a corpse before burial.

So as people watch Trolls 3 and notice that Velvet and Veneer remind them of Betty Spaghetti, a fun fact about myself and my family, my Great Uncle Dave, actually helped to make them!

He was on the Ohio Arts Design team who brought Betty to the masses! I about went through the roof when I realized who Velvet and Veneer were supposed to be based off of

Unfortunately my Uncle passed in May of this Year, I know he would've gotten a kick out of Velvet and Veneer,

He worked at Ohio Arts in the 80s/90s/2000s I grew up getting whole sets of these guys as a little kid, I am sure unfortunately we lost the backpack full of them in a move.

But one Heirloom we have still of my Great Uncles adventures is the Etch and Sketch Clock, he received I think 5 of these and my Mom received one, pictured here,

He was good friends with the people on the Etch a Sketch Crew as they were adjacent to each other, he'd help once and awhile too.

My family's got some history with your favorite childhood memories,

And that's not mentioning my grandfather, who turned down a job offer from Walt Disney himself. But that's a story for another time.

WTF I had cook and burned an egg 🍳 and it turned into a napkin and a piece of misseltoe that I found in the woods 😒
