Also, Eminem dropped his new album, The Death of Slim Shady, today and I have listened to all the songs twice already. What an absolute masterpiece. The only song that doesn't really do it for me is Tobey, although its lyrics are really good, otherwise, I love every other song on the album. However, I still need to look at some of the lyrics properly because I am sure some songs are controversial af. So let's which songs I still like after a deep dive.

The theme behind this album is the struggle between Eminem or Marshal Matthers and Slim Shady or something along those lines. Slim keeps trying to get them cancelled and Em is trying to stop him. The song Guilty Conscience 2 highlights this perfectly.

Another major theme throughout the album is that Em believes that people try to cancel him for being honest. He feels that the world has gone too soft and everyone is so babied that their feelings get offended at the smallest of criticisms, even if it's constructive.

Also, I never thought that Eminem songs could make me ugly cry but here we are- Temporary and Somebody Save Me.

Temporary is a song he wrote for his daughter Hailie in which he tries to console and help her cope with his death. It is so heartbreaking. It has audio clips of him and baby Hailie- a rare glimpse into Em's soft side.

SSM is most probably from the pov of Em if he had not been able to give up his drug addiction. In the song, he apologizes to all his daughters and brother Nate for not being there for them. He raps about all the things he wished he could do- thankfully this is only in imagination and he has done all these things in real life after he became clean.

So, I have decided that I will try to listen to one artist's (that I had been really wanting to listen to for a long time but for some reason couldn't) entire discography for a week in my free time and then write down my favourite songs from that album, my top albums, overall top songs or any other thing that comes to mind.

This week I'm going to listen to Charli XCX.

Her new album Brat came out a month ago so I decided to start with that. I listened to the entire album + the extra three songs + the feature with Lorde today.

It was a great album, some really good club bangers. I love how direct she is in her lyrics, it felt refreshing. So, yeah, that was nice. On another note, I watched her lyric videos and almost got epilepsy.

Today I listened to 2 of the albums- True Romance (+ Heartbreaks and Earthquakes mixtape) and Sucker. Both were good but I liked Sucker better. Maybe it's because it felt more relatable and I liked it's sound better. I don't know.
