I am bot very familiar with Chisato Nakamuras manga but it is so excited to read it and so see the diffrents in the storyline

Sam, thinking about the troubles that Hilmes might face.

When Hilmes announces his identity, Zandeh’s really happy with the reaction of the crowd and is like “Look, Sam, everyone supports His Highess Hilmes!” but Sam knows that this stems from their hatred of the Lusitanians who have just been ousted from the capital, and that support is not unconditional…

So as I mentioned before, Elam and Alfarid were in the crowd in Ecbatana watching Hilmes remove his mask and announce his identity, and planned to report what has happened to Narsus only they can’t leave the city because the gates have been shut.

After evading a guard they run into Sam, who senses where they are hiding in a bush and tells them to come out. Some typical squabbling between Elam and Alfarid ensues, and when Sam hears Alfarid mention His Highness Arslan he understands (…no, they’re not here to steal stuff from the palace… Alfarid was pretty offended at that assumption just because she’s a Zot).

Anyway, they’ve heard about the underground aqueducts and ask him to take them to the entrance. He does try to say he doesn’t know, but they don’t believe him, and so he agrees to take them there (he actually seems a bit amused that these two kids have him at swordpoint).

On the way there, when challenged by a guard (who says it’s rude for them to be hiding behind Sam’s cloak lmao) Sam says that these kids are his blood relations! 🥹

He takes them to the entrance of the waterway, points out where they should go and warns them that from tomorrow it will be heavily guarded. They thank him, and leave, after which Sam has those thoughts of Arslan that I posted about here.

When Hilmes falls asleep on the throne, he doesn’t have a flashback but he’s having nice thoughts of the cheering crowd etc, then there’s no mage disguised as Husrab; the scene with the empty treasure is next though it does look like there’s an equivalent fake!Husrab mage ‘don’t you want to hear these secrets’ scene later on?

The face of a man who is realising that he’s done exactly as Guiscard had planned for him to do…

When Arslan sees Elam and Alfarid riding back to the camp, he falls out of the tall tree which I guess he climbed to keep watch (honestly it looked really serious for a second, but he’s fine!). He must’ve been really worried about them!

(Okay, I’m out of time so that’s it for now, but there are a handful of extra scenes between Hilmes and Irina in Nakamura’s version that I will 100% try to translate! Expect more posts on this manga soon because it’s making my head spin in the best way, lmao.)
