Oh My God

Oh my god

I like it

And the panels with Kubard are so funny 😆

In moments like these, it's not hard to see why Kubard is a marzban. He may be quite the loose and untraditional, but here he lightened the mood and raised the morale— relieving some tension where before the soldiers were very high-strung and panicking. It's not just his strength and physical/combative prowess, though that certainly plays a part too.

Before this too, he led a group of ordinary villagers against Lusitanian soldiers and won. His leading skills are nothing to scoff at.

Which makes his “let's just fucking ditch this too” thing at Atropatene all the more glaring— Andragoras fleeing clearly pissed him off a lot, he's a good leader when he has a reason to stick by and fight.

I admit I didn't pay that much attention to Kubard when I first read the manga (a mistake, imo) but I like him a lot. He's a good character, and very fun 🤣

Not shown but Kubard yeeted an entire Turanian. Rest in splat, buddy. And the one he knocked down with him.

I will never not love these panels. They're so pissed!! And they're right to be— they finally have something they can call their own, something that solidified their freedom, and they just started working on it and damn Turanian soldiers just come trampling on it?? Damn I'd get pissed too! Do you realize how angry I get when someone messes with my art?? Do you realize how miserable and murderous I get when I'm kept from finishing my art?? Do you????

GET THOSE BITCHES, BOYS!

Also Kubard's fucking face 😂

Hello there, Barhai! Or is it Balhai?

LMAO, language barrier problems. I'll never not find this funny.

Get in line, Ilterish. You've got people ahead of you who've booked an appointment with Daryun.

Love the banter, though.

The sheet delight on Daryun's face!! It's just literally the “>:D” face, isn't it?

Arakawa never disappoints with the crowd/soldier art. I can just feel their elation, I could almost feel myself whooping and jumping and cheering among them.

Them beans. I love.

🤗 My boys!!! I always appreciate a good Isfan panel.

And hello, is that you Parazada?!

Farangis and Narsus: a brotp I never knew I needed.

I dig it, though.

“There he is, seated underneath a hornbeam tree, birds nesting in its foliage and singing alongside his own song. The song has a light, airy sort of quality to it, the sound of strings filling the air with sweetness.”

Second encounter, done!!

I shall get on with the third, and then I'll finally be able to post the whole thing. I have a feeling the third one will be longer than the second (which was shorter than the first).

Anyhow, wish me luck!!

Forgive me for my AU ramblings but—

Finding out from @innerchorus how Gurgin was always attracted to… darkness, sort of, and had a tendency to poke things that should not be poked at even before his brother’s death… His tendency to question the norms laid before him (how interesting to say “might is stronger than faith” when he’s a priest-in-training, eh?), I can’t help but wonder what he’d think if or when he finds out about the clan.

Because even if none of the other disciples may know, I’ve decided that the Master definitely does. Not that they’re still alive, no, but their history, the animosity, mages vs sorcerers in the fight against Zahhak, the role the mages played in the sealing of Zahhak (unclear if he’d know about the betrayal and the sacrifice)…

Actually, how should the disciples learn of the history, anyhow? Would the Master tell them? From the start? Or only after their first run-in with a mage, probably Arslan in Ecbatana?

Monstrous, she is, tar-black strands like gnarly vines in the dark of the night— so dark it refuses to have any shine. It absorbs all light, even the lustre of the golden headpiece seems dulled and corrupted with grisly shadows. No one has ever seen her face for it is always behind a veil— all that escapes that piece of cloth is her voice... a cracked and gravelly one that scrapes the air like nails across a blackboard. It sounds broken, like something took her voice and mangled it before returning it to her, thin and pained. She never raises her voice, but it carries anyways, as if from a higher entity that permeates and seeps into their surroundings. If she is some sort of entity then she must be a malevolent one, of shadow and blood and death. Everyone thinks her face has to be hideous too, surely it must be, when the rest of her body too is certainly inhuman— blackened veins taking root in ashen flesh.
