“Think of two people, living together day after day, year after year, in this small space, standing elbow to elbow cooking at the same small stove, squeezing past each other on the narrow stairs, shaving in front of the same small bathroom mirror, constantly jogging, jostling, bumping against each other’s bodies by mistake or on purpose, sensually, aggressively, awkwardly, impatiently, in rage or in love – think what deep though invisible tracks they must leave, everywhere, behind them.”

— A Single Man, Christopher Isherwood (b. 26 August 1904)

I'm here to tell you something. I know that 2024 will be your year. I know. You will come out of your shell, you'll make friends, you'll put yourself out there, you'll go and ask for what you want, you will not shut up, your voice will be heard. All of this is great! I only want to tell you one thing.

BE STRATEGIC.

You need to know WHEN to speak and WHO needs to know. Don't share your business with everyone, specific people need to know specific things about you. About your financial goals should know only your mentor, investor, banker or broker, then you keep your mouth shut.

You ask yourself: "Can this person help me achieve my goal?" If not, they don't need to know about it.

You might say this is coming from a woman who can't keep her mouth shut but let me tell you something, not one single soul knew I got into University for one year. Why? Because people will hinder your progress, they might be jealous or they will share it with everyone (that's the worst part, everybody knowing your business), because things might not work out as you planned and you'll make a fool of yourself publicly. They only need to see the end result, the ones who really matter, your people, they are with you in the process, nobody else needs to know. Your fitness journey should only be known by you and your trainer. Your relationship goals should be private.

People might see that you're working towards something but they will never know what exactly is it that you are doing. Be smart. Be strategic. Learn to discern who needs to know about it. Happy new year! 🖤
