“Anthony put on the shoes.”

“No, I like mine.”

“Those shoes are fucking ugly, and I would rather die than own that I dressed you in them.”

Anthony grinned down at her for a long moment, the crowd screaming behind them, something rippling in their eyes before-

“Well, I’d hate for you to be embarrassed!”

“Anthony, No!”

Before anyone could catch him he sprinted off, skidding onto the stage in his socks his shirt unbuttoned in nothing but his underwear, grinning back at her. “Ladies and Gentlemen, the stylings of Kate Shaaarrmaaaa!”

And as the band struck up behind him, Kate finally shook herself, “Absolute fucking idiot.”

Kate knew what she’d signed up for when she’d agreed to be Anthony Bridgerton’s on tour stylist. She knew from the second he arrived to their fitting half an hour late his manager apologising profusely for a man who didn’t seem the least bit bothered. And even before that she’d heard the rumours, models in the dressing rooms, messy break up after messy break up, the man himself grinding against a guitar with his hair tousled and eyeliner smudged. And it would be fine. If it was just the fact that they sparred every chance they got, and flirted outrageously. It would be fine if she didn’t long to give in. But she does.

At 40, Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, walked through the park in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully. Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her.

The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures."

Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life.

During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable.

Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned. “It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.

Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changed me." the little girl hugged the new doll and brought her happy home.

A year later Kafka died. Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written:

"Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way."

I know we love calling Anthony unhinged and a hoe (which he is) for losing it at the sight of her thigh, but I was also taken aback by the first time I saw it. I also momentarily lost a couple of brain cells. My mind also went blank. I also wasn't expecting it. It's a good leg, okay?
