“im so tired.” you yawned, gathering your hair behind you to tie it up loosely.

“wait let me try.” your boyfriend!jaemin took the tie from you, placing it around his wrist. he bunched your hair into place, then proceeded to take the tie from his wrist, and twist it around the bunch of hair he held in his hand.

you sat in a chair up to your vanity, jaemin standing behind you. you were faced with the reflection of you and your boyfriend in the mirror.

“done” jaemin stepped back a little, admiring his work. it really didn’t look nice, and it didn’t feel nice either. “wow jaem. good job.” you congratulate him while you cringe, touching the tangled mess with your fingers.

the two of you continued staring at your reflections. jaemin leaned down to hug you from behind, with you still sitting in your chair. you couldn’t help but notice how sweet jaemin looked hugging you, enjoying being able to see him from this perspective in the mirror. jaemin’s head now rested on your shoulder, both of your gazes still focused towards the reflection.

“mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the cutest of them all!?!” jaemin said, playfully swaying side to side to the rhythm of the rhyme.

“y/n!!!!” he shouted in response to his own question, pinching your cheeks.

“pshh.” you shoved him away only before standing to jump onto him, causing him to fall onto your bed right behind him.

you found yourself sprawled out, laying horizontally over jaemin’s chest, causing him to question your odd choice of a position.

“why are you laying like this?” jaemin giggled.

“it’s comfy.” you said casually in response.

you looked over to jaemin’s hand, resting beside him, just in your reach. you grabbed his limp arm and began slapping him in the face with his own hand.

“why’re you hitting yourself? why’re you hitting yourself?” you said repeatedly. jaemin flinched continuously until he pulled you onto to himself to hold you back, keeping your arms down with his over yours. you were held tight in his embrace, and you couldn’t help but giggle at jaemin pretending to be annoyed.

locked into jaemin’s arms, you rested your head in the crook of his neck, relaxed enough to drift off to sleep, until he picked up your arm…

you lied on your bestfriend!mark’s bed as he was humming and looking at his phone simultaneously. neither of you said anything, you just kept each other company while you were in your own worlds.

you admired the boy, tracing an imaginary outline of his soft features. you giggled at his subtle reactions to whatever he came across on that screen.

you couldn’t help but notice how the color of his shirt complimented his skin tone and features so well.

“you look good in red.”

mark looks up from his screen

“me?.. oh thanks”

“yeah…you should wear red more often..” you yawned as you flipped over to lie on your other side, hoping to seem collected through your embarrassment.

now you and mark were facing away from each other.

“what about you?” mark breaks the brief silence.

“what do you mean?”

“i mean do you look good in red?”

“oh uh i don’t know…”

“well then let’s see.”

mark grabs a hoodie, nearly the same color as his shirt, from his closet and tosses it to you.

“here, put this on.”

you slip his hoodie on.

mark takes a step back and pretends to contemplate how you look, although he already knew.

“hmmmmm…. maybe red isn’t your color..” mark teased.

you scoffed, and turned around to lie facing away from him.

“i’m kidding!!!!!” he giggled.

you felt the bed sink in slightly as mark lied down next to you.

“turn around”

you shifted over to lay on your other side to be faced with mark looking at you with fixed, careful eyes.

you and mark lied there, still face to face, taking in each other’s presence.

“yeah, red suits you well..” he said.

you let out a pleased scoff.

“what..” mark questioned.

“i think that’s the first time you’ve given me a serious compliment.” your lips curl into a grin. “you normally say that you’re just kidding or something afterwards.”

“i really do mean what i say.”

your eyes widened a little.

you followed his movements as he started to sit up slowly, subconsciously leaning closer to you.

your eyes closed, anticipating his touch.

“please do it.” you hoped silently. “kiss me this time.”

before he got any closer, his abrupt jerk startled you.

somehow you and mark always found yourselves ending up in this situation. it never got any further than this. you were on the same page, yet nothing ever happened.

you stared at the flustered boy in front of you, oddly comfortable in a situation that should be tense with embarrassment. you were used to it at this point, there is no hiding anything from each other, and neither of you mind being completely vulnerable to each other.

mark looked cute. his messy hair. his pink cheeks. his perfectly placed moles. his innocent expression.

even though you told yourself to never admit how you felt about mark, your heart seemed to have already made the decision for you.

“mark. you can kiss me.” you said in a whisper, tears forming in the corners of your eyes for some reason. “you can kiss me this time.”

your words seemed to leave mark unaffected. as if he’s already played them in his mind hundreds of times before. he eagerly inches closer to you. confidently knowing exactly what he was going to do, he guided his lips to meet yours.

his lips were soft and sweet. just like you had imagined. you ran your hand across mark’s arm to notice goosebumps covering his body.

he can’t help but smile out of the kiss…

“well that would have been nice to know a long time ago.”

you took in a deep breath to collect yourself. “continue. tell me why the chicken crossed the road.” you held your breath.

“well to get to the other side..i guess…” haechan starts to giggle when he sees your red puffed out cheeks, trying not to laugh.

and you couldn’t help but break out into hysterics.

“WHAT Y/N IT’S REALLY NOT THAT FUNNY OH MY GOSHHHHH!!!” haechan grins ear to ear as you go limp, falling over onto his shoulder.

“you make me laugh so hard.” you catch your breath, as he wipes the tears from your cheeks

haechan threw his head back in disbelief.

“y/n. you’re so cute.” he mumbled inaudibly under his breath.

“did you say something?” you raised your head from his shoulder to look up at him.
