Okay, you need to make sure you play this game at some point. Maybe not today or anything, because you’ll need about thirty minutes and a serious willingness to understand how it works, but - it’s so worth it. It’s basically an answer to our occasional frustration - why do assholes always come out on top? - and the beautiful thing about it is that not only does it explain how that happens, but also how we can change it.
“In the short run, the game defines the players. But in the long run, it’s us players who define the game.”
Okay FUCK IT
Who wants to hear about my favorite Webtoon it has a following of about 500 peeps and the most exquisite premise of all time
It’s called Spontaneous World shifting, and the name sums up the situation pretty well. Tabb, a kid from earth, starts spontaneously shifting different worlds. As of Episode 68, where we are in the story while I’m writing this, all planets have been capable of sustaining life. All of this started when Tabb picked up a strange rock, which started the shifting process.
Tabb’s in each world for an unpredictable amount of time, from several months to less than a week.
And it’s SO FUCKING GOOD.
The art is some of the most stunning stuff I’ve seen in Webtoon. The character dynamics are amazing. There are different magic systems and magic levels and reliances on magic from world to world, it makes me wanna squeal. And then there’s like. A degree of how politics and social structures are made off of that in the area of the world’s cultures. Just. I LOVE IT SO MUCH
And Tabb’s gotta figure out how to survive in every. New. World. Whether or not it’s hostile, has intelligent life, what’s safe to eat - by the fourth world she starts figuring out certain consistencies, like rain water has always been safe.
And gosh, the emotions that we get after Tabb shifts off the world that she’d been on for the last several months— she had a friend, who was a bit like a mom to her. She’s emotionally in shambles but is having some trouble letting herself fall apart.
Plus here are some of my favorite frames from the earlier parts of the first two worlds!!!!
It’s an amazing comic on so many levels and can someone please read it so we can freak out about it at each other
