Caspar is dead and Linhardt is stricken with grief but Caspar promised him that they would both get married after the war and would travel together. Linhardt is just too heartbroken to be in a world where Caspar Isn't with him so he just thinks about if he can go to a different universe, a different time where Caspar is still alive he can just take that Linhardt's place, Linhardt is at that point where he doesn't care if it's wrong as long as he with Caspar then he's okay no matter the consequences.
