I don't know. Right now, anyone who wants a season 2 of Sandman should probably:

1) tell everyone they know to watch Sandman and

2) watch Sandman all again.

If you're going to be honest, this wasn't your first choice.

Deep, deep in the forest of Idovale lies a mysterious mansion that houses the (in)famous family: The Varias Family. There were rumors of them to be bloodsuckers, witches, warlocks, psychics, or even creatures that lies beyond human comprehension. You're not normally someone who believes in the supernatural, but hearing the rumors that surround them would make anyone antsy.

You, a recent freshman that was admitted into Idovale University, weren't exactly strapped with cash. That, and they were renting out a room in their mansion at a very low, low price. You needed a room quickly, and so you venture your way to the family's mansion.

Upon meeting the family and living there for a few months, you're starting to think the rumors were...true. You think. You think they're true. They're still a huge mystery. But, nevertheless, they make your life, in a sense, very interesting.

But strange things are happening in the town of Idovale, and it's causing a stir. A strange murder that stars a corpse surrounded by flowers, a cold case that involved the Varias Family returns, and you're the one solving the murder.

Seriously, what the hell.

Welcome To The Family is an interactive-fiction novel influenced by The Addams Family, Kuroshitsuji (aka: Black Butler), etc., about family relationships, mystery, and intrigue. This will be made in Twine.

Irina Varias (she/her, 23); One of the romantic options, she's the elder sister of Valentin Varias. She's cold, blunt, and mysteriously murderous at times, but she carries a dark humor that's followed by a sadistic, dark smile. She conducts herself as gracefully as her mother, but it makes you wonder what she's like when her walls are down.

Appearance: Black hair tied into medium-sized, wavy pigtails that hangs on the sides of her head. Her bangs just stops above her eyes. Her eyes are a dark, dark shade of black. She tends to wear a black dress-shirt with a long, black skirt that reaches her ankles. She wears black flats with white tights. She wears silver studded earrings and black gloves. She has porcelain skin, and her height is 5'8''.

"I love you! I really do! See, the bats from the attic are spelling out the words out for me! Huh? 'It says 'I loathe you' instead'? ARRRRGHH, IRINA! QUIT MESSING WITH MY AFFAIRS!"

Valentin Varias (he/him, 22): One of the romantic options, he's the younger brother of Irina. He's the opposite of Irina; bright, bubbly, and extremely demented/deranged. He conducts himself as intuitive as his father, and he would proudly hug his family members...while trying to kill them. Especially his sister.

Appearance: Black hair that's short and slightly spiky at the back, the sides of his hair are long, braided pigtails with white ribbons. His bangs just stops above his eyes. His eyes are also a dark, dark shade of black. He tends to wear a white, dress-shirt with a black vest and a black ribbon with white lines around his neck. He carries a black belt with packs, filled with items of massive destruction, weapons, and snacks. He wears black gloves and black slip-on shoes. He has porcelain skin, and his height is 5'6''.

"Do you...do you truly love me? A monster such as myself?"

Nicolae Dimir (he/him, 28); One of the romantic options, he's the family butler of the Varias Family. He's a gigantic man who intimidated you greatly with his deep voice, but he's in actuality, a huge softie. He loves gardening, he loves to read, and he loves to care for the Varias Family, who graciously took him in when he had no-one else. You do, however, wonder why it is he calls himself a monster.

Appearance: Long, white locks of hair that reaches his lower back. His bangs wisps around his head, but stops right above his eyes. His eyes are hazel-colored, but it turns into a beautiful, golden color when the light hits it. He wears a pair of black glasses. He wears a three-piece butler suit with white gloves. He has almond skin, and his height is 6'4''.

"Seriously, why the hell am I getting dragged into this? Just because I owe Adrian, does NOT mean I should--ah, what the hell. If I fight a frickin' sea monster again, I'm making Adrian pay for our dinner. C'mon kid, there's a mystery to solve."

Ash/Ashlyn Blackmore (he/him, she/her, they/them, 45); One of the romantic options, they're a retired detective that's old friends with the head of the Varias Family, Adrian Varias. They're grumpy, swore off of cigarettes for chocolate pocky, and they're loyal to a fault. Despite how they conduct themselves to others, they're an old, but well-known detective that used to live in Idovale. You wonder why it is that they'll offer to help, but not be the one to solve this case?

Appearance (Male): Has russet, red-brown hair tied back into a high ponytail. His bangs stops at his chin, with one of his eyes covered. His eyes are a shade of light violet. He tends to wear a white, dress-shirt with a loose, black tie and black slacks with black dress-shoes. He wears a large, black overcoat with fur around the hoodie. He has warm beige skin, and his height is 6'0''.

Appearance (Female): Has russet, red-brown hair tied back into a high ponytail. Her bangs stops at her chin, with one of her eyes covered. She has rounder features, compared to her male counterpart, who has chiseled features. Her eyes are a shade of light violet. She tends to wear a white, dress-shirt with a loose, black ribbon and a black, long skirt with a slit on the side. She wears black, high-heels. She wears a large, black overcoat with fur around the hoodie. She has warm beige skin, and her height is 5'6''.

Appearance (Non-Binary): Has russet, red-brown hair tied back into a high ponytail. Their bangs stops at their chin, with one of their eyes covered. Their eyes are a shade of light violet. Luca/Luna/Li Roman (he/him, she/her, they/them, 33); One of the romantic options, they're an old serial killer that was once nicknamed, 'The Moon's Marionette'. Whimsical, unpredictable, and deeply amused, they were the first to be suspected...until they weren't. Now, they're serving as your apprentice, in exchange for their death sentence to be lifted. They seem to have familiarity with the Varias Family.

Appearance (Male): Has long, messy black hair that reaches his shoulder-blades, the ends are dyed a deep violet. His bangs stop right above his eyes and frames his face, the tips dyed in a deep violet. His eyes are heterochromia, his right-eye being silver with his left-eye being gold, and he has bags under his eyes. In prison, he wears a customized prison outfit; a white and black-striped long-sleeve with frayed ends, black, tight jeans and he's barefooted. Once he's out, he wears a black, business suit with a white, dress-shirt and a tie with black, dress shoes. He has pale skin, and his height is 5'9''.

They have eyes, ears, and can be anywhere. Really, they're a horrible option. But does that deter you? Absolutely not.

Adrian Varias (he/him, 46): The head of the Varias Family, he's the husband of the beautiful, Rozalia Varias. His shenanigans makes your head dizzy, and he's already enlisting you as a part of his family.

Rozalia Varias (she/her, 44): The wife of Adrian Varias. She is often the one who calms Adrian's antics down, and is considered to be a very, beautiful woman. She is also enlisting you as a part of her family, so really, there's no huge difference between the two. You think.

Claude Varias (he/him, 44): The brother of Adrian, he's a jolly, nonsensical man who enjoys your company. A 'breath of fresh dust', is what he said. You don't really understand him, but he often brings you gifts. He has a beautiful husband and two children.

Isabela Varias (she/her, 43): The sister of Rozalia, she's the obligatory 'wine aunt' and often visits to see how the 'most normal of the Varias' is doing, aka: You. She sometimes makes a off-handed comment about how you should visit her, but you can tell she really does want you to visit her villa.

Augustine Varias (they/them, 20): The cousin of Irina and Valentin, they're a member of the extended family of the Varias Family that doesn't live in Idovale. They often come to check in with the family, and they're always accompanied by their snakes. They find you fascinating.

Mimi and Sisi Varias (she/her, 12 & 13): The cousins of Irina and Valentin, they're the twin daughters of Claude Varias. They remind you of another set of twins that stands at the end of hallways, but it's best not to dwell on it.

Valerica Varias (she/her, [REDACTED AGE]): The mother of Adrian Varias, she's an old witch that embodies the sense of a true, Varias member. She finds your company enjoyable, and often asks you to join in on her little extortion with others. Yes, you heard that correctly.

The pets...it's best not to dwell on them.

I am deeply annoyed that you’ve made me feel the need to post this before I was ready, but since it has been quite a while since I’ve shared any real progress updates or sneak peeks here, I can see where you’re coming from, rude as your delivery was.

So here, a little walkthrough of the current developmental build of Seven Heirs:

Some of the content is still just placeholders, especially on the About You screen, but it shows you the main UI; the About You, Compendium, and Achievements screens; general notifications; achievement notifications; the name generator; the character creator and randomizer; the randomize option; and the back button (which goes back 10 “pages”).

This month I’m focusing on writing and finishing up some more of the desktop UI and behind-the-scenes coding before moving on to the mobile UI.

I’ve been taking a brief break the past couple of weeks since there have been a deluge of health crises with my dogs, but generally speaking, I spend every single weekday working on 7H. Some days are better than others, and I often struggle to remain on a single task, meaning I bounce around a lot from thing to thing, but progress is being made. Not that I need to prove anything to you, but here we are.

Anyway, yeah, Seven Heirs has been moved to Twine. SugarCube 2.36.1, Tweego, a bunch of custom macros created by myself and others, all that.

So...why are all the characters in your new game white christians? do other religions and races not get to be traumatized too? you wanna be all inclusive with the gender stuff, but not race. and it's a game about religion but youre only referencing christianity?

YES. I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ASK. FUCK YEAH!

Okay, so 1: I wanna say something really important. There are different types of diversity than just race. Just grabbing a random character and deciding "well this one is black" is pretty much just...what mainstream media does to pander, yeah? I want as much types of diversity as I can. Race, religion, disabilities, nationalities, "gender stuff." The whole shebang. There are POC ROs in the third WIP, Ro isn't white but he was adopted so he doesn't know his ethnicity and doesn't really care(Though I can tell you he's Iranian). Cody is mixed race, her father was Native American and her mother was black. Aure is also mixed race, her father is Japanese and her mother is white. I am not going to change my vision of a character to just make them POC to make a game more inclusive, it feels cheap and condescending.

Next, as far as why all the characters come from a Christian or Catholic background: this game is about MY religious trauma. Not anyone else's. I was never traumatized by Judaism or Hinduism. I was traumatized by Christianity and Catholicism. The reason most of the characters are indeed white, is because I grew up in a predominately white area. The characters represent things and people from my life, so they reflect the things I saw and experienced. Had I grown up in a black area, they would most likely be mostly black. But I didn't, so they aren't. If the game isn't for you, that's fine. This game isn't going to be for everyone. It's going to exist purely as a way for me to purge a lot of shit I've been holding onto for most of my life because of my religious upbringing. This game is just here for my catharsis. Not anything else. Other games and projects I work on will be more centered on you as a reader, but this one is about me as a writer. And I won't be sorry for it.

Heavily based on and inspired by the "Folk of the Air" series, "A Court of Serpents" is a fantasy, character driven IF focused on the romantic aspect, created with an 18+ audience in mind. A retelling of the books written by Holly Black, it deals with heavy themes and topics such as mind manipulation, sexual content, kidnapping, swearing, violence, non consensual use of drugs, alcohol, questionable morals etc. (Wow, that's a lot of words to say "fanfiction turned IF".)

As the only human in the Kingdom of Faerie, you're no stranger to shining eyes that hold looks filled with hatred, lips painted in the color of forest fruits whispering your name, heads with pointed ears turning at your every step. Though you long for their approval, for a place amongst the wicked immortals, they remind you with every breath you take that as you came from dirt, to dirt you will return.

Prince Ryzan and his friends, Nailea and Zale, are the worst of them all. They humiliate you, laugh delighted at your despair, and sometimes they gaze at you with such distaste that you know they'd rather you dropped dead right in front of them. You try to avoid them at all costs, but they always manage to find you and throw you into the midst of chaos that only leads to your complete and utter embarrassment.

Ryzan (he/him) - As the Prince of the Kingdom of Faeries, Ryzan knows he is allowed to do anything and everything and anyone he wants. His friends might make your existence miserable with taunting insults and disturbing behavior, but he is the worst of them all, letting it all happen while drinking his pomegranate wine and watching you with a cold smile and eyes that hold something more than hatred in them. He hates you, he hates you, he hates you. But if his hate feels like fire, how would his love burn you?

Nailea (she/her) - Sent in the Kingdom of Faerie as a peace treaty between her mother, the Queen of the Undersea, and the King of Faerie, Nailea hasn't tried to hide the way her nose scrunches up in disgust at the mere sight of you. She doesn't waste any opportunity to humiliate you, lavishing in the way your shoulders slump with a defeated sigh when you know she's won the battle. Nailea can't stand you, that much is clear. She always sends that subtle, but menacing, smile your way as if she knows something you don't, and you'll find out soon enough that Nailea is someone that should never be trusted.

Zale (he/him) - He might not be royalty, but he's managed to find himself in Ryzan's graces and, of course, his friend group of slithering snakes. Zale has never pushed or shoved you, he has never insulted you or made you bleed. How could a kind faerie like him end up tangled with such horrible company like Ryzan and Nailea? He smiles at you, he looks out for you, he dances with you at revels. But you know something is wrong from the way his crimson eyes twinkle with deceit, and you'll have to remind yourself that his lies are as pretty as he is.

Silas (they/them) - There are no normal humans in the Kingdom of Faerie, all of them being glamoured to be mindless and senseless servants, except you. Until Silas comes along, that is. The court says they came here to steal one of the servants, and even killing her along the way, sending the kingdom in waves of chaos and confusion. But as you get to spend time with Silas, getting to know them a little bit more every day, you find out with every soft touch and silent laugh that their story has to sides. They need your help to escape back to the human world and you realize they're your ticket out of the Kingdom of Faerie. You might not die trying to escape, but you might die of heartbreak if betrayal comes your way.

Casts change each chapter! This includes the target, the contacts, the side characters...everyone. That said, there may be a few persistent characters on the loose...make sure to keep an eye out for them.

Have a rival! They'll be appearing during your jobs...will you work together, or will you try to take each other down?

You'll also have an AI partner to help you with your vengeful duties. Do you make them more bitter towards humanity? Or do you teach them empathy? It's up to you!

Choose how to defeat your targets! Will you focus on seduction? (totally cool if you don't!) Or will it be intrigue? Maybe you'll focus on more straightforward means to get your way? It's all up to you!

Be ruthless or gentle with the NPC-I mean, side characters. How you act towards them will effect how people in your world see you. Are you heartless? Or are you too caring?

HUGO (NB)

An Artificial Intelligence assigned to you by the Agency, HUGO stands for Human Utility Gathering Operator and they're like your inside man when you enter the world, giving you all the information you need. They're personality is seemingly professional at first, but they hide an energetic quality to them and see each world with such awe. They're devoted to you utterly, but they can be argumentative.

"I...I hope to stick by your side forever, dearest host!"

Eve (M/F/NB) (Gender Selectable)

Your rival and potential ex lover if you so choose. They're arrogant, smug and perhaps even a touch annoying, but damn if they're not good at their job. Skilled at seduction, they've certainly turned many targets heads at not only their skills, but also their beauty. Underneath their cocky facade however, lays an intricate person who's been hurt too many times before. Do you think you can get them to open up?

"I've always looked in your direction, but when will you look my way?"

Appearance: Sandy blonde hair that reaches their chin, with baby blue eyes and tan skin. They have a casual style of wear and are almost always seen with their signature sunglasses. Yes, even indoors. Height wise, they stand at 5'7.

Note: Eve is a code name and not their real name.

Antony (M)

If Eve is your rival, then Antony is your villain. Everything about him is shrouded in mystery and not much can be said about, but he is extremely intelligent. Suave and affable, you wouldn't realize just how ambitious and despicable he actually is. Yet...his soft side for you is undeniable genuine. What sort of person is he actually? Is there more to the picture than it seems?

"There's only eternity waiting for us out there. Won't you take my hand?"

Appearance: Dark, burnt red hair with russet eyes and beige skin. His hair is kept neatly short, with his bangs being side swept. He dresses mostly professionally, suits and the like filling his wardrobe almost completely. However, when in a more casual mood, he's more willing to...strip down.

Note: Antony is more a late game RO, but he does appear early in the story, as is the case with all of the ROs. This route won't be for everyone so I'd advise only going for it if you like bastard ROs.

Anri (F)

Your next door neighbour with a hidden hobby. She's only moved in recently, but she can be considered your connection to the world you live in. Playing games in her past time, she's an avid fan of fantasy and plays TTRPGs a lot! Maybe you'll even catch her playing? Her other hobby includes fashion and sewing. On her day offs, she can be find at the local wall, looking for supplies to make cosplays with. However, she also wishes to be part of your world...will you let her?

"What you do...it must take a lot of guts to do it. I admire that about you, y'know?"

Appearance: Her hair style tends to change based on what she's wearing or who she's meeting with. Due to how advanced technology is in this world, it's pretty easy to change things up. When you first meet her, her hair is a bright neon green cut in a bob style that reaches her ears. Her eyes are a natural brown and her skin is dark brown.

Rem (M/F/NB)

A mysterious RO, who at this stage can't be named or described without giving the surprise away so for now, we'll call them Rem. They appear in every chapter, but as someone different. They tend to have the same personality so they're noticeable to spot. Brave, but not dumb. Kind, but not softhearted. They know when to lend their aide and when to revoke it. While they may seem quick to believe someone, they'll always require proof first. Can you win them over? Or will they be in constant mistrust of you?

Caroline

Your boss and the one who recruited you into CHAOS. She's strict and a no nonsense woman, but she does care about her employees. Less so about their AIs, however.

Irene

The student you are forced to take in. She's pretty shy, but has an inquisitive mixed with curious nature that gets her into trouble sometimes. She's also unsure if she's really up to being an agent; will you drive her away or convince her to stay?

Warnings

The main character starts out depressed, anxious and trapped in an unhealthy environment. Later on, the game will contain adult themes, explicit adult content (which as always can be skipped), and brief mentions of suicidal ideation. At that point, the demo will be moved to the adult section.

The romanceable companions:

There will be two companions that the MC can romance in this game, either individually or in a polyamorous triad.

Zach is a cynic with a dry sense of humor, and they somehow always show up when the MC least expects them. Confident and easy-going, Zach fiercely is loyal if you prove that you deserve their dedication.

Cy is a strong-willed but grim individual who is completely oblivious to humor. Any attempt to joke with them will fall flat, but they make up for it with their passion for life and everything in it. Stubborn and territorial, Cy will do whatever it takes to draw the MC to them.

The game is romance-focused for story reasons, and as such, there will be no content that is focused solely on friendship.

The game will feature many, MANY small chapters, and that will allow me to update it frequently. Timeline-wise, the game is set after The Soul Stone War series but BEFORE the series that will come after.

The man runs for his life. The dried leaves crunches under his, formerly, white shoes. He doesn’t know where he is or where he is going, all he knows that he needs to go far away from the figure pursuing him.

A trail of blood is left behind him. His left hand is clutching the bleeding stump of his right one, a lack of fingers clearly noticeable. The forest provides him no shelter as he tries to maneuver inside it.

‘Just go straight. There should be a way out straight ahead, right?’ His train of thought is interrupted when one of his foot hits a big chunk of rock and he falls face-first on the ground, hard. The man feels his two front teeth getting knocked out and spits out dirt and blood. He cries out, despite himself, as he momentarily forgets about his mutilated hand and puts too much pressure on it in his effort to scramble himself off the ground.

“What an unsightly scene we have here.”

The man’s blood runs cold in his veins. Fear making his arms weak and letting him fall back down. His sanity quivers as he hears the sound of hissing around him. So loud that it seemed like he had fallen right into a pit of angry snakes.

“I’m afraid our little game ends here. Now, be a dear and let me see your face.”

No. He will not. He will definitely not. This is all just a bad dream and he will wake up in his bed, safe and sound. His hand will turn out fine. He will go on with his life as usual.

“Disobedient to the bone, aren’t you? Very well.”

A pair of hands rest on either side of his face and he trembles despite the gentleness. The touch is almost soothing. Almost.

CRACK!

His head twists in the complete opposite direction of his body as the sound echoes around the area. Wide, glassy eyes stare into the face of the man’s tormentor, showcasing the remnants of terrified shock in the last moment of his—rather short—life. His nightmare smiles, resting their forehead against his and delighting in the macabre position he ended up in. Their gorgeous face marred by a splatter of dried blood across their cheeks and nose.

“I wonder,” they hum as they stand up to drag the lifeless man behind them by his hair, “if the stray dogs are still hungry.”

The town of Helmsford, Connecticut, in the 80s can be considered as your average small town in the middle of nowhere. That is if you pay no mind to the seemingly random disappearances and murders that happen here. But it is almost an art form, the way the townsfolk have learned to ignore them and forget it all with time.

You are the youngest surgeon in town and considered to be a prodigy of some sort. With a career in the medical field, you are much too used to dead bodies and hysterical patients. But... it is not the complete reason for that, is it?

A surgeon who kills deliberately. The irony is not lost on you. Dubbing yourself as a vigilant while law enforcements consider you no difference from the fugitives you hunt, you have no intention of letting your perfect mask slip and disrupt your entire routine.

When an officer from the local police department is unlucky enough to nose into your business and finding the secrets you hid in your basement, you have no choice but to silence him forever. Little did you know that this particular event would lead to an oncoming threat to the balance you had cleverly managed to keep in your life.

And you will soon learn that you cannot always outrun the karma that you hellishly dish out to others.

The Midnight Saga: The Hunters is a direct sequel to The Midnight Saga: The Monsters.

You’re the Warden of the world of the living and your mission is to protect the Nowas (ordinary people born without magic) from the monsters that might cross into your timeline. Yet, you still have your life to live, and you can be an ordinary person with a minimum wage job, and navigate the big city of New York, bumping into people who have no idea that monsters exist.

In book 1, you faced the Keeper and met with the hunters, and book 2 is your chance to learn more about who the hunters really are, and what is their connection to the origin of your powers.

Never played book 1? Well, book 2 contains a new path where you can create a new character, and still get all the goodies from book 1.

What you can expect:

• Play as Cis, Trans, or Non-binary. • Fully customize your character. (You can even name specific body parts for some steamy scenes) • Play as gay, straight, bisexual, or asexual (You won’t be locked out of romance). • 6 official Ros with 4 Gender flip Ros two of them can be NB. • 3 flirts option (the hunters). • Play as a Bubbly character or a Cold and Grumpy one. • Fall in love, make friends, or just watch them fall flat on their faces. • Slay monsters or punch them in the face. • Polyamorous romance and ROs. • Fight terrifying monsters, do quests, explore a new dimension, collect items, and encounter fantastical NPCs • Content Warning: mild body horror, violence, smoking, sexual content, and death.

Important note: The “keep my option open” for relationship will likely not make it to the final book as it is difficult to code with it. The game allows you to flirt with everyone regardless, so there’s really no use for that option. The artwork at the end of the demo will not make it to the final game as I only got permission from the artist to use it for free.
