Since Percy can talk to sea creatures, I'd like to think that one day he passed a pet shop with all these fish screaming at him in agony. Since then there has been a giant aquarium in cabin 3 with fish. He converses with them daily when he's at camp. He gave them all names (they were delighted to hear his suggestions).

There is one grumpy grouch that always tries to eat as much food before all the other fish. He has to keep him forcibly apart in a tiny water ball during dinner. He named him Zeus. Percy doesn't give a shit. Poseidon knows and thinks it is hilarious.

Chiron, who takes care of them when Percy's gone, cannot understand them but he doesn't like the way they look so judgemental. They are very much gossiping about him to his face.

Personally, I am also team Jason Grace. He did NOT deserve what my boy Rick did to him.

SPOILER FOR HOO AND TOA, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I really don't like what Rick did to Jason and Piper. As I'm rereading HOO I've been seeing a trend that Piper and Jason just get constantly shit on, a huge example is that Jason is constantly getting knocked out during fights. He has maybe a couples big moments (fighting the legion with Percy at the old confederate base, helping Percy against Otis and Ephialtes) and most of those moments aren't *just* Jason, he's normally paired with Percy or someone else.

Combat wise, I don't have anything to gripe with Piper, she's written quite well and my grievances are tiny (I kind of feel like she exists only as Jason's love interest, but then I remember she kicks ass by herself (most of the time)).

Don't get me started on their relationship either, in TOA I was hoping their relationship would get expanded on more, kind of how we got with Percy and Annabeth. But no, I read that they broke up, and Jason dies alone, still in love with Piper. I don't care about, "oh but it was Hera/Juno who coerced their relationship!!!1", they both decided in the books, that they were gonna make it work even because of that.

Anyways, just my thoughts on it.

TLDR: Their relationship and characters could've been handled better than it was.

currently thinking about how percy attempted to end his life by suffocating himself underwater near the argo ii. but jason disrupted it and saved his life. then months later. jason was killed on a boat surrounded by water. and it just so happened to be on a quest that percy turned down.
