Maribat? Get in! is pleased to be hosting a week-long event:

"Flashpoint paradox week".

This event is a maribat event-based on the dc movie "flashpoint paradox". We have two separate calendars for artists and writers with a week of prompts and three substitution.

The event will start the second week of November ,2020.

This event is entirely for fun. There will be no prizes but 4 works will be chosen by our team and displayed on the leaderboard of our server and blogs.

Anyone on ao3 (archive of our own), Wattpad, and Tumblr can participate in this event.

For Tumblr, you will need to tag our blog @maribatgetin and add one of the tags FLASHPOINTWEEK2020, Flashpointweek2020, or FW2020 to your work, so that we are able to reblog it.

For ao3 users, please add the tag FLASHPOINTWEEK2020 to your additional tags.

For works uploaded on Wattpad, tag our account @MaribatGetIn at the start and the end of your chapter. (You will need to follow us).

honestly tho that scene in the incredibles where mr. incredible sees the names of all the old super heroes that used to be his friends / that he knew from Back in the Day and how every one of them has been killed by syndrome is such a chilling scene for so many reasons 

like for one, everyone he knew is dead at this point and has been killed on the same island he’s at now and two, its heartbreaking bc that means that almost every hero wanted to try out being a hero again despite the laws against it and wanted to try and help someone out and relive their glory days, only to be straight up murdered like fuck that scene is just so fuckin intense

Guide to Maribat

Note: The only reason I’m using the DC/MLB tags is because of the confusion about Maribat. Per the agreement made when this crossover was first created, Maribat fans do not use these tags, but I found this case to be an exception.

Maribat is a crossover ship between the Miraculous Ladybug and DC fandom.

It originated from the user @ozmav​ on Tumblr, who posted the first Maribat fic with the pairing between Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Damian Wayne. There are multiple ship names used, but common ones include “Daminette,” “Damianette,” and “MariDami.”

At the start of its creation, the Maribat fandom was known for using common tropes such as the “class trip.” Most fics included Lila salt, class salt, and occasionally Adrien salt as well. They generally didn’t stray from the original storyline written by @ozmav​.

Although Daminette content and the use of similar tropes are what the Maribat fandom is known for, there are many different ways to explore this crossover universe. There are various ships between Miraculous Ladybug and the DC characters, even those who aren’t part of the Batfamily.

This leads to the discussion of antis and hate.

There have been various accusations of pedophilia with ships such as Marinette/Dick and Marinette/Jason, but Maribat takes place in a crossover universe. Timelines can easily be shifted to make the characters’ ages match up; not to mention, it isn’t uncommon at all for DC to change the ages of their own characters (for example, Zatanna being aged down in Young Justice.)

Another complaint is that people are written OOC, but again, the franchise struggles with the consistency of its own characters. Either way, the point of fanfiction is to let writers be creative and share their own take on a piece of content.

With the creation of this new fandom came bashing, and lots of it at that. This video by @fsketchart​ gives a good in-depth explanation (anti discussion starts at 16:21).

Well, its seems like I’m about to publish this... Prologue. So be ready the story will be separated in two parts.

<Status: Online>

<Status Online> is the Story that takes place inside the VRMMO setting. Where all the Players are in positioned for the Death Game: Sword Art Online. Characters like Kirito, Asuna, Marinette and Damien are trapped in. Their goal is to reach and win the 100th Level of the Floating castle in the game. If they did then all the players will be released to the real world. 

<Status: Offline>

<Status Offline> is the story outside the game. This takes place with the governments, associations and families of the players such as the Wayne Family, the Miracle Team, the Justice League of Japan, and the goverment. They do their best to keep the systems online like the medication and housing of the Player’s bodies, the internet, electricity, and their safety from Natural disasters in Japan such as earthquakes and tsunamis.
