So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

fun story involving me and everclear!

it was my freshman year in college and i wanted DESPERATELY to fit in, even going so far as to weasel my way into dorm parties where one of my class’s popular boys (he fell off by graduation but mostly everyone knew who he was that first year) and his friends were getting crazy drunk and playing their electric guitars.

all of a sudden, one of the guitarists rips out a bottle of everclear and everyone goes nuts. they think he’s crazy for even having it, and some are refusing to even look at it because this shit is stronger than strong. it is lighter fuel.

so then Popular Boy gets all comedic, joking about how he should do a shot of it, and everyone else is telling him how bad of an idea it is when my little 5’6” self pipes up with “bet i’ll do it with you.”

the minute i say that, this easily 6’3” guy is trying desperately to chicken out. but i won’t let him. call it sheer stupidity or teenage alcoholism. and so now this man is fumbling and asking his friends to prepare a chaser just so he can not be seen as a wuss.

and it’s honestly a good thing he seems so scared because it made me feel so much tougher about this Mystery Jet Fuel liquid that i’ve never consumed.

so they pour the glasses. one shot for each of us. and Popular Boy is armed with an expired Lipton iced tea so chase it down with at the ready.

one. two. three. we drink. and suddenly, the horrors prevail.

like, i cannot make this up. it felt like it was literally burning my stomach from the inside out. i immediately keeled over. Popular Boy actually fell to the ground on his knees in pain, desperately nursing his tea. i got so desperate i was chasing it down with water.

i would love to say that i learned something from that experience, but i now have an affinity for eating moonshine pickles. so if anything, it just gave me an iron stomach.
