Anyway time for nonsense

In the most simple of terms, INH is mainly just about a god who doesn't actually want to be a god in the setting of a doomed-to-die alternate universe that is run on code. Said AU is connected to other universes who may or may not be owned by my best friend and the love of my life, @milesthemagical's INVITATION EXCAVATION and @domsanim's Crayton Chronicles.

Before the main timeline with Niko Yazuki, there is a man who I am just going to refer to as Lee. Lee is an older business man who does average "I'm super rich and want everyone to know I'm super rich" stuff with his wife, Marla.

Lee and Marla were very well known in their respective communities, but for the wrong reasons. Lee was a subspecies of demon, while Marla was an angel. This was a HUGE no-no during the time, as it was "forbidden" for a demonic being and a divine being to be together. This went for relationships involving human x divine, demon x divine, and so on.

Despite this, Lee and Marla went on to be married (secretly) and would frequently attend parties run by close friends of Marla or business partners of Lee. This would eventually be the couple's downfall.

A year after their wedding, Marla was found brutally murdered during a celebratory afterparty. She had been gutted and skinned, words found carved in an unknown language onto her back. This was, obviously, more than traumatic for Lee to stumble upon, and lead to his insanity.

Lee had ended up buying out what used to be a fully functional mental facility, and turned it into a very NOT functional mental facility. Everyone who was hired was either an addict who only worked there for a place to deal/sell, or was forced in unwillingly thinking they were going to help people. "Patients" in the asylum are rarely ever treated for actual illnesses. In fact, they likely have more illnesses within a week of being trapped there. The asylum is advertised to be the most efficient at helping people, and the commercials provide painfully realistic "proof" to support that.

The main reason Lee had bought the facility in the first place was to group in the best magic users of World0, or rather, the children of the best magic users (this will be very important later on). This reason comes in to support the other reasoning behind buying the asylum, which was to "revive" Marla.

Lee visits the burial site of his ex-wife, digs up her corpse and brings it into the basement of the asylum. Using one of the patients that had been recruited into the asylum, he sewed her mangled body back together in order to create a vessel. Lee then proceeded to offer the patient he forced to sew Marla back together to the divinites of w0, and, to his surprise and everyone on the planet's dismay, a god responded. Marla's body was now inhabited by a splentity created from D1, the pylectro god that ruled before Niko Yazuki.

Splentities ("split entities") are what are sometimes formed when someone in W0 experiences an event in their life that should have killed them, but they survived. Splentities can either be an exact replica of the person they split from, or an exact opposite. For example, an optimist faces a near death experiences, undergoes "physical mitosis", and creates a pessimist.

The splentity inhabiting Marla's corpse calls itself Scithe. Lee does not seem to care that Scithe is absolutely nothing like Marla, and keeps her around to one, dispose of the patient bodies, and two, because he doesn't know what he would do if he forgot what Marla looked like. Even if Scithe ruined that by altering her facial proportions.

Scithe goes on to create a very fatal disease, later known as FAc ("False Angelic Corruption") with the help of D1. This disease was initially created to be given to Lee to get rid of him so that Scithe could run the asylum herself, but the plan backfired when the disease infected Scithe then began to spread throughout the asylum. Scithe realized something when this happened. FAc was only infecting demon subspecies, while everyone else in the facility who didnt fall into the category was fine and completely unaffected. At first, this angered Scithe, so much to the point that she killed D1 with a special string of the virus created specifically to target and kill seraphims.

Years after Scithe's creation/Marla's "revival", Niko and her sister Jessica are brought into the asylum after the murder of their parents. This is where the main story starts.

INH focuses on Niko rather than her sister, so this will be written based on her events.

When she was living in the asylum, Niko and her sister were subjected to countless forms of torture. Before Niko was infected with FAc, she was missing both eyes, had bradycardia alongside other physical illnesses, and was temporarily mute as results of the torture in the asylum. For a moment after she was infected, Niko had convinced herself she was dead and was living a dream as she suddenly didn't have these issues, and she could no longer feel anything.These feelings were extremely short lived (a day) as the infection rapidly set in. Next thing Niko knew, her insides had been replaced with biomechanical nonsense, she could lose then regenerate limbs, and also just had ungodly eldritch abilities which all came with being infected. Niko, even to current day, experiences cannibalistic episodes (FAc causes severe anemia), which are very conflicting as she is a god who is supposed to be caring towards her people. Sometimes, she's forced to eat them.

Niko escaped the asylum when she was 15, this all starting at the wonderful age of 9. When Niko escaped, she unintentionally left Jess behind. This caused Jess to absolutely despise Niko, whether it was accidentally or not. As for Niko, as far as she's aware, Jess is dead.

Niko actually did not discover that she was a god until she was 19. She had just "died" for the first time by being stabbed by Scithe herself. Scithe had been sent to assassinate Niko by Jess as part of a deal. Niko had been stabbed in the head, and then promptly woke up in some form of headspace. There, she met Iravine herself, who told Niko something along the lines of, "get off your ass and fight back". She literally said nothing else to Niko after that. Niko had healed just as Scithe was leaving, but she didn't attack Scithe back. Instead, Niko just left the scene, leaving Scithe to be extremely confused. Only two years later did Scithe realize she had failed to eliminate Niko.

In simple terms, Iravine is the omnipotent being manifested into existence by humans on earth who created Vuruta, or, World Zero (names used interchangeably).

Currently, in the year 4029, Niko spends most of her time with her subjects (when she's not being forced to eat them, that is) and answering questions and "wishes". Even if she hates humanity, she loves her people.
