I unfortunately know, yes. I grew up with the original PS2 games, and I remember him being notably darker than in the remix. I have no idea why they keep lightening characters in this franchise, but it's genuinely frustrating/upsetting. I'm not live-laugh-loving the erasure, Square Enix.

Hot take mayhaps, but I really don't love how much they nerfed Ansem (Seeker of Darkness) in Kingdom Hearts 3. Honestly, I may be plainly and simply delusional in this regard, but it looks a lot like they lightened him a fair amount in the third game which aggravates me to some extent. I apologise for the low quality images, but I was trying very hard to find screenshots of him in scenes where the lighting was just slightly more neutral, as opposed to the majority of scenes with him in it in the third game where he is surrounded by (haha) darkness. Not only did they lighten him at-least a bit (so it seems), they also changed up his features quite a bit. Don't get me wrong; I do genuinely like Kingdom Hearts 3 (Even redemption arc God Bless), but he's a lot of his more 'unique' features, with his slightly more hollowed out cheekbones, sharper eyes, very remotely sharper jaw/chin, I think his lip shape is a little off but Don't quote me on that one because I am a little blind, etc. Perhaps I am talking into thin air, but there's just something about his (amongst others) Kingdom Hearts 3 design that irks me slightly.

I'm not angry or anything of that sort, obviously, but I just find the design changes a bit disappointing, is all.
