I’m noticing I like to put Dave in blue a lot.

In this gemstuck, Dave is a rare sapphire that has grown bored of his fate and future.

(He does not need to be accompanied by guards as he is skilled enough with a sword.)

Lying about his vision to Green Diamond, he claims he will be shattered due to complications of the rebels. Instead, he disappears during the fighting, running into Rose Quartz herself (John as Pink Diamond and June as Rose) and she clearly sees he is deserting, decides to let him leave.

Dave is free from the diamonds, and for a short period, he is free to do whatever he wants. The issue is that everything is just as obvious as before. That was the case until he ran into a off colored Ruby who was hiding on earth after hitching a ride in a colonial ship thanks to the help of his friends. Karkat was constantly hiding his gem, and pretending to be some sort of Quartz. He was unpredictable. He was loud and uncaring of Dave’s rank. And things like this added up and they fell in love.

June meets a man who she learns to love in a different way. She had come from a family who seemed to ignore her or treat her as lesser, but he had treated her with respect and cared about what she had to say, found family trope if you will.

(You can’t tell me that Dadbert wouldn’t adopt a thousand year old war criminal that needed a good dad role model in their life. She loves him and he loves her, and for years they get along as father and daughter. )

June is so inspired by him. She wants to be someone’s parent, she wants to give someone that love. So she gets gregnant, but instead of the sideways tango, it’s through a sperm bank.(I’m not making Dadbert the biological dad, I’m sorry but that’s creepy no matter which way you dice it)

She asks him to take care of her child, and he happily agrees.
