Jungkook | Storms
Jungkook | Storms

Summary: Jungkook is afraid of storms, but it’s the middle of the night.
Pairing: None
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 800 something
Warnings: My depiction of a storm isn’t graphic (at all), so I guess it’s okay to read even if you do have astraphobia. But you can totally skip if you want to 😊
Enjoy!
He was the Golden Maknae. Good at anything and everything. He was brave, determined, and passionate. And people loved him because of this. But they didn't know one thing. He was afraid too. Of storms. Well, storms and microwaves, but yeah. And he thought that his fear— no, phobia— was the worst thing ever, because right now, he was curled up in his bed, his thick furry blanket around his shoulders, shivering, not only because of the storm, but also because of the cold. It all started when he came out of his bathroom, toweling his hair dry. They all had spent all their day recording and learning a new choreography. He was exhausted and cold, despite all the sweat, so the first thing he did when he came home was take a warm shower. Carelessly throwing the towel somewhere, he threw himself on his bed.
He groaned slightly and dragged himself up to his pillow. Pulling the blanket up to his chest, he snuggled with a pillow, falling asleep quickly. But that sleep lasted for just half an hour.
He was woken up by a very loud roar. It was distant, but he felt it as if it was just next to his ear. The slight rumble that followed the sound confirmed his suspicions; it was a thunderstorm. He cursed under his breath, half expecting Seokjin to scold him, even in this situation. He was brought out of his thoughts when it started raining heavily. He loved the rain, but put thunder in the mix, and it was his worst nightmare.
He figured that if he fell asleep, the thunder would cease to matter anymore, so he tried to do just that. He laid down slowly, covering everything but his head with his blanket. He closed his eyes, but every time he did so, lightning flashed before his eyes. He was starting to sweat buckets despite the cold.
He thought about going to his hyungs, but immediately shot down the idea. They didn't know he was afraid of storms, and this was the partial reason he didn't want to get up. Another was the it was very late and his hyungs were tired and would be sleeping. He didn't want to disturb them. He decided to tell his hyungs about his phobia the next day, so he wouldn't have to care about all of this.
So, he just laid there, cowering in fear. It took a particularly loud boom which was considerably closer to their dorms for him to shift to the corner of his bed, wrapping the blanket around himself. He didn't know how long he just sat there, doing nothing. Every minute felt like an hour to him, every second slowly ticking away. Remove the thunder and rain it would've been eerily quite.
He got surprised when the door opened, and a pink head peeked him. "Jungkookie?"
"J-Jimin hyung?" He could see the confusion on his hyung's face. "Jungkookie!" Jimin came in and sat on the bed. "You okay?"
"I—" Jungkook debated telling his hyung, "I'm just afraid of storms. Why are you here hyung?"
Jimin was about to say something, but instead chose to reply to his question, not wanting to make the younger awkward. "The heating in our room isn't working, and the storm won't let us sleep on peace, so me and Hobi hyung were checking if anyone was awake or had enough space on their bed for us."
Jungkook was about to offer him to sleep there, but Hoseok peeped in. "Jimin? Jungkook?" Both the boys looked at him. "What's going on? Why aren't you sleeping Jungkookie?" Hoseok came in and sat on the bed too. "He's got astraphobia, it seems." Jimin replied for him, seeing the younger boy was still shaken up. Another dangerously close noise sounded again, telling them that the thunder was getting nearer.
Jimin made his way towards Jungkook, who was visibly shaking now, and hugged the boy. Soon, Hoseok joined in. "I wish this bed was big enough for all three of us."
"Guys?" They all looked at the door once more, only to find a very annoyed and worried Seokjin standing there, arms crossed. "It's one thing to not sleep but it's another to make a commotion in the middle of the night."
Seokjin seated himself next to Jungkook, wrapping the big blanket around himself too, and listened to Hoseok explain the whole situation."You both sleep here. Jungkook, come with me." The youngers obliged.
Soon, all the preparations were made. Jungkook followed his eldest hyung out of his room as the other two laid down in his bed. "You okay now?" Seokjin turned around to get comfy and settled down facing Jungkook. "Yes, hyung. Thank you. And sorry for disturbing your sleep." Jungkook snuggled in closer.
"Why didn't you ever tell us, Kookie?"
"The situation never occurred."
Seokjin patted his head a couple of times, and pecked his forehead. "Go to sleep."
It's safe to say that the rest of the members' phones were filled with cute pictures of Seokjin and Jungkook sleeping all cuddled up.
