PLA honestly handled it better than 90% of isekai media in situation with Ingo

Like yea game downplays it in a way but it’s obvious he’s struggling

We clearly see him being an outcast here, he doesn’t spend time in settlements, he isn’t friends with that many people and mostly keeps it ‘professional’, his closest friends are his Pokémon

And entire amnesia situation makes it even sadder, man got yeeted here and now honestly doesn’t even know if he belongs here or anywhere at all

And now think about him having no memories and prior knowledge aside from reflexes, he has no language knowledge, no culture knowledge, he doesn’t even know what place and time it is, he ends up in a rather cruel wild place and just think about him, an amnesiac with clear need in medical attention straight up making himself learn how this world works

Ingo is honestly one of the best examples of undercover horror elements in isekai

Ingo’s situation isn’t romanticized or glorified or made fun of in canon by itself and it makes us feel sorry for him, it makes us sad, because even on basic level we understand how fucked up his situation is

Just think a minute about how Ingo’s situation is a literal isekai stripped of tropes and let depressing realization bitch slap you out of fantasy and memes

AGH, this damn episode hurt my emotional heart. Like yes, it was more of a filler episode, but it gave Joker a chance at witnessing a happy and simple family. At that moment, he knew that Hachi had the greatest treasure of all. :')

Imagine we had a few more episodes with Hachi's family, but over the course of the series, they're just subtly (not so subtly lol) bringing Joker closer to their family, dragging him in their everyday activities.

The mother asks him for help with the cooking, and because he does not know how he makes extra sure that he pays attention to her instructions. The father drags him and Hachi to some wacky hiking trip or something and tells him grand old tales about their village (Cue Joker having flashbacks to the time he met their ancestor lol). And then Hachi's younger siblings always swarm around Joker, begging him to tell his amazing adventures or just want to play with him.

Joker's already caught off guard by their determination to bond with him, but then one night Hachi's mother prepared his favourite dinner, curry and hamburger steak, after being informed of their visit. The usual. But she tells him that she will always remember every family member's favourite food, and that includes him.

And at that point Joker's just overwhelmed. Every single bonding activity he's been in constantly reminds him of his own family, a family he never thought he would have again. Yet here was Hachi and his family, all welcoming him with open arms.

It's a bittersweet yet heartwarming thought. :')

AND THE FACT THAT HE WAS LOOKING AT HACHI BONDING WITH HIS FAMILY KNOWING THAT HE'LL NEVER HAVE THAT BECAUSE HIS PARENTS ARE GONE BROKE ME ARGHHH 😭

I don't care if he knows how to defend himself and shit I will protect this boy at all costs.

I'm not really in the Hazbin/Helluva fandom nor do I consume their content as often. There is also the fact the fact their type of content isn't my usual content...

But you know the drill: Family stuff convinces me of anything, lol. Lucifer became an instant favourite character of mine. He was absolutely hilarious to watch, his relationship with his daughter made me emotional, and his song "More than anything" absolutely wrecked me gosh darn it! :'D

And with the implication that he might become part of the main cast gives me so much excitement for season 2.
