Hey Just Saw You Have Asks Open!
Hey just saw you have asks open! π
Cool.
Are you taking requests or..?
I have always taken requests! π
Like, I don't promise to write a whole fic for AO3, but I definetely do my best to incorporate the ideas somehow somewhere. Tumblr allows a better format for this tna Twitter so yeah, feel free to send requests!
Also in general I have my asks open cuz I like the concept more than the idea of allowing DM from everyone on Twitter (there's too much spam there as well) and I think the anon option helps ppl be less shy and interact more. I am aware sometimes we all feel ashamed of sending stuff like fic recs, vents, head canons or whatever, so I believe the anon format really helps to thin this barrier π«
You guys can ask whatever you want, specially if it's fandom related. I might not always answer but trust me that I'm not awkwarded by people asking about where I have been, if a fic is coming back or anything like that. As long as we are all kind to each other and understand boundaries, I see no reason to not interact with other fans. I hope this helped!

"If Megatron has one weakness, it's his inability to grant Starscream the respect he deserves, not for his considerable abilities or his cold-blooded ruthlessness, but for his dogged refusal to cease making attempts to wrest power from Megatron. Starscream isn't really even smart enough to make a secret of his ambition, and his vanity won't tolerate anything less than total command. Guile and treachery are his undoubted talents, but he lacks the patience for a a truly grandiose power play."

I know I'm very loud about my tastes but still π
Okay here's an ask game
Send me a ship and I'll answer three questions based on if I ship it or not.
Ship It
What made you ship it?
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Don't Ship It
Why don't you ship it?
What would have made you like it?
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
brudick for the ask game? or aztim if you havenβt done them yet
I'm gonna do both one after another, I hope it's okay!
AzTim:
SHIP IT!!! πππ
1. What made you ship it?
I think I could talk so much about how I picture their relationship and why I think there are many homoerotic tones in their relationship but mostly I got obsessed with them due to Knightfall presenting an scenario where Tim is the only bat around who is concerned about Jean-Paul and who is facing the mess next to him. The fact that in a certain way it was Tim who *made* JP Batman got me whipped.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Their messy past! Knightfall is such a delicious event and I adore that JP and Tim have a lot of things only they know and only they lived. JP was the very first person to cover for Bruce as Batman, and Tim was barely begining as Robin. Tim WAS JP's Robin, and I don't think ppl talk enough about the feelings they would about it. Plus JP has a lot of catholic trauma and guilt which I think would make very hot if he dated an agnostic queer Tim.
Plus something something Batman/Robin rp
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
As with Ra'sTim, it's mostly about the characters themselves. My perception on Jean-Paul is that he is a complex person, with trauma and pain, and I picture JeanTim as a complicated situationship. As much as I love dark scenarios, I don't really lean into making it abuse for the sake of it. For me, it's a relationship that is born after years of yearning and messy feelings, longing and hidden desires.
BruDick:
Ship it! π€
Certainly not the ship I'm known for but I like it!
1. What made you ship it?
Probably how kind the fandom is; opposite to other Batship fandoms, BruDick fandom has shown to be extremely nice and respectful, something that encouraged me to interact a little with their content, and I loved it. Bruce and Dick might not be my favs but I adore their trope as a ship and I think they CANONICALLY have an homoerotic subtone. There's a reason Batman & Robin were used as gay code for so many years, and ir was due to Bruce and Dick and their marriage!
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Definitely the fandom. As I said, ppl on BruDick fandom are extremely nice. You can open a fic or fan comic and not be worried about unnecessary hate because they don't rely on that. In fact, many BruDick media treats other characters with kindness and respect as well: It's so comforting to see BruDick fandom being so respectful to Bruce's female love interests in canon, as sexism is sadly a problem in BL fandom. When I see BruDick, I don't have to swallow the bitterness of seeing sexist stuff, or hate towards other bat children.
Also BruDick introduced me to the idea of Tim being their bio son and that makes me feral π
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Probably not? I usually agree with most of their depictions. I personally don't mind if they're messy tho, because I see characters as dolls. If anything my problem is that I'm very bad at writing Dick because he is an awfully human character (he's not as frozen into an archetype as Tim, Jean-Paul, Ra's, Jason, Kon, Lex) which makes him a headache for me because I struggle trying to imagine how he would feel like. Hence why I mostly do BruDick as background and not as main in my fics.
Timber / timsteph? (I personally hate them, with good reason, of course! but I'd like to know ur opinion on them.)
I'm gonna do these two together! But this time I won't tag the ships as I don't want π interacting plus I don't really think it would be nice to put my hate on their tag lmao π€£
TimBer:
Hate it. Loathe it. Rather than not ship it I'd say I want to destroy it.
1. Why don't you ship it?
It's terribly written. It's an ooc Tim with a self insert of the author and not even the most bland straight ship writing of DC is at this level of awful. It has done nothing but make Tim a terrible character and ruin him; currently Tim is a no one at DC and I blame this ship 100%. Amazing that what Slade's comics did so easily with Jericho was something impossible for Batman editorial.
2. What would have made you like it?
It would have to be written by another author. Someone who understood Tim completely, someone who wasn't afraid of real queer experience, someone who wasn't sexist as hell, and someone who didn't destroy years of a character's legacy.
B would have to be the old, original version. And his messiness should be kept, because that's literally the only interesting thing he had going on.
3. Do you have anything positive to say about it?
Sadly no. B current character sucks, which is a shame because his old version was kinda funny and definetely had the vibes of "mean, rude boyfriend". This B is nothing but a self insert and is closer to a woman than to an actual queer man, which also sucks. Tim has been made something he isn't, and it's horrible.
The fandom is disgusting. It's full of sexism, racism, and most people have zero media literacy which means they spend their time harassing people who create content for other Tim ships.
I really hope DC buries this ship down on the grave.
TimSteph:
Huh, 50/50?
1. This is a complex ship for me. I think my problem is that I was very satisfied with their situation at the end of New Earth: I see them dating, caring for each other deeply, and eventually going their own ways but still being friends. Not even as bitter exes, no, I genuinely enjoyed Tim & Steph still trusting the other and being friends. I do enjoy them as two teenagers who feel attraction to the other and try it out. Now, this is usual verse. As you know, I play with Tim's gender quite often, and when I write Timothea/Thea, I really enjoy TimSteph more and feel like it's a sad but real romance.
Perhaps my feelings are too complicated for a single post. I see Tim as a queer person who loves strongly and not always in conventional ways. I think he loves Steph and Tam and Pru in different yet similar ways, and with the first two there was an attraction. It's just that it wasn't meant to be. That being said, I would really prefer Tim to be dating Steph or Tam in current canon (as long as it didn't do the girls any disservice) rather than his current love interest, but if it were up to me, Tim wouldn't have a canon love interest and Steph and Tim would be friends (not to be confused with family).
Plus I think a deep part of me was really confident Steph was gonna come out as bi or lesbian before Tim did because her story resonates a lot with wlw people who stay in the closet for different reasons (such as her past pregnancy) so... π
Idk! I don't want them to get married or anything like that but I think them dating is and can always be part of their story and something they look at with a smile. No need to ruin their friendship or push any of them as "evil".
2. If Tim were Timothea in canon I would be definitely obsessed with TimSteph. Something something make them the DC version of the manga NANA and have them reject heteronormativity.
3. Steph is a character unfairly hated most of the time and I think it goes hand on hand with people's own sexism and DC's awful writing for her. It makes me mad that we have so few moments where Steph actually shines and is allowed to be a more complex character. This is why I say I really would prefer if she and Tim had been allowed to stay single and as friends, because both of them deserve better than current DC.
