Sooo something just dawned on me…

Aoyama got his Quirk from All for One, and because of that, he’s expected to follow AFO’s every command or he and his family would be killed.

Lady Nagant got her extra Quirk from AFO, and when she showed signs that she might turn against him…her body exploded, nearly killing her.

I always thought it was odd that the reason Raymond beat himself up about not being able to prevent DL-6 was because he didn’t go home with Gregory, which was apparently something he did often (I figure Gregory gave him a ride home, or they took the Japanifornian bullet train together, etc.), and I’ve wondered for quite a while why exactly he didn’t that day, especially when both he and Gregory would probably want to A. try and figure out how to appeal Master Jeff’s case and B. have each other’s moral support for this trial that ended so badly.

But then I remembered - who would need moral support even more than Gregory or Raymond? Kate, that’s who - her dad just went to prison, after all.

What if the reason Ray didn’t go home with Gregory that day is because he was worried about Kate, and accompanied her home?

What if he came to her house, and talked with her, and they barely noticed the earthquake, and the power going out for a few hours?

What if he stayed until she fell asleep, then went back home late, late at night, having never watched the news because Kate couldn’t stand to see images of her father being taken away?

...What if Raymond brought breakfast to the office next morning, and nobody was there?

He let himself in with the spare key, and he used the office phone to call Gregory’s cell, wondering where he was... and a police officer picked up.

...And he realized that there wasn’t going to be anyone to eat the breakfast he brought.
