Yes itâs  breaking news darlings so lets please forgive #CNN for forgetting to report this potency: I havenât had a cold in over 12 years now I imagine. *insert sashay sound here* When you havenât experienced something in a long time, you kinda delightfully lose track of time so it could be closer to 15. But lets be clear: thereâs nothing inherently âwrongâ with catching ( i.e. creating) a cold, so if youâre sniffling and sneezing, there still lies an opportunity for celebration. Your  gorgeous and most courageous body temple is still working in your highest honor as it spiral dances in ways to signal to you when it needs a bit of care, attention, rest, and warm loveliness, even at the onset of a cold.
Part and parcel of my lush body temple being 12 years free from a single cold/flu  has a lot to do with my feminine wellness practice vibrating my immunity at higher levels. Mmm, Mmm, buzz, buzz, buzz.  Frankly I have made it pretty tough for me to get sick with all of this living honey streaming up my curvy spine and out of my oil-pulled mouth. Along with that circulatory sweetness is an abundance of dried herbs, barks, roots, stems, and guess what, **blooming** flowers nourishing these organs!!! ding, ding. This morning  the Lover and I sipped on a  slow-brewed tea consisting of reishi mushrooms, rooibus âred bush,â basil, tarragon, elderberries, orange peels, ginger, astragalus, rosehips, cinnamon, calendula flowers, and sprinkles of love here, there, and everywhere. And I promise that neither one of us will catch a cold as long as we continue to invite more earth inside our temples on the inhale. And so far, sooo good (and delicious).

No matter what I always choose beauty. What comes with choosing beauty is more intention and alignment. Intentional living.
Thinking about how there is nothing more beautiful than cooking with a lover while dancing and kissing and sipping on a cocktail. If you are like me and donât really drink, you sip when the mood feels rightfully beautiful.
No matter what I always choose beauty. Beauty is not a luxury. It is nutrition.
But beauty requires something more from us in exchange for its nutrients.
Beauty is not something this world gives to us and there is no guarantee that we will be ready, available, or present enough to really receive it.
Beauty is something that we have to be willing to claim, to pause and take notice of, to shut the fuck up and listen to, or to put in time and effort into feeling.
A beautiful sunset will just pass on by if you don't look up from your phone at the right time.
The effort it takes to put on a nice-fitting dress while home for no reason at all other than it feels beautiful on your skin or to take time to plate your home-cooked food in an artful way is something only you can give to yourself.
A beautiful bouquet of wildflowers brought home will be meaningless if you don't take time to contemplate and notice them.
I always choose beauty in the mess, in the ugly, in art, in meal prep, in lighting a candle, and in the shapes my female body makes.
I am on a partial road trip and packed two small ghee lamps. Even with a packed suitcase, I managed to squeeze in two brass ghee lamps, these little works of art and spirit. Ghee lighting symbolizes purity, peace and love and I light one every night in the kitchen and bedroom in lieu of artificial light and witness how the shadows dance prettily along the walls as I deepen into my night stretch.
I always choose beauty, glass jars tinctures I make by hand and take with me to spa. I could simply pack them into plastic bottles but then chemicals from the plastic would leech into the concoctions and change the molecular structure of the contents. I could just go to the store and buy whatever is available in plastic but it would lack quality. It would be easier to put the concoctions in plastic or just buy something similar instead of making them. I wouldnât have to be extra careful to not break any bottles or have to take so much time getting ready for the spa, but I choose beauty.
Beauty is less about possession of it as conditioned and more about contemplation, awe, and wonder, witnessing natural light shine prisms through large bay windows.
One personal secret of the universe about me is that I quietly wear pink fuzzy kitten mule house shoes with a 1/2 inch maximum heel height indoors because they feel beautiful and sexy and work cutely with the shape of my body.
Beauty gives us feeling. It gives us height and it gifts us fire. It can turn us on and make us come fully alive.
Beauty can also set us free.
Because when we choose beauty, beauty naturally chooses us back.

Increase walking, add Mat Pilates and stretching to your routine, begin light cardio and weightlifting, and do your best to hit 10,000 steps per day whilst still doing an additional activity on top of that. Walking, doing light weights, heavy cardio, Mat Pilates, and stretching made my body look amazing after losing 80+ and growing into my shape as it is today.

You need to increase your water intake as well as your protein intake. The most important thing I learned on my journey was that I needed to be eating and drinking if I wanted to see any progress. Calories, when used well, arenât anything to be afraid of. Introducing whole foods, good meals, and proper nutrition into my life changed things for the better almost immediately. I also began drinking half my bodyâs weight in ounces, and the weight just fell off.

Skincare (including exfoliation, deep moisturizing treatments, sun protection, etc.) is essential. Taking care of your whole body, not just your face, is incredibly important. I take the time to care for my whole body as well as my face, and I donât ever neglect myself. Iâll refrain from making a long list of the things I do, but I will say this: your skin is your bodyâs largest organ, and if you are unhealthy or neglectful, it will deteriorate and make you look much older.

Your environment is a reflection of yourself. You cannot expect to look pristine if you keep a filthy home. Tidy your room, wash your clothes weekly and hang or fold them the moment they come out of the dryer, wipe your shoes clean from scuff marks, and organize your makeup and other possessions. I take a lot of pride in how organized I am and how beautiful Iâve made my home, and part of that beauty has to do with my willingness to clean and take care of my things.

The most important part of bettering yourself is recognizing that you can and should be doing better. Iâll be the first to admit that there have been times where Iâve slipped up, but whatâs helped me move forward without guilt or shame is knowing that I can think to myself, âI can do better,â and keep going. Life is going to feel meaningless if you donât give yourself grace. In order to grow and eventually find yourself in the place you want to be, you have to recognize that doing better today than you did yesterday is an essential part of human growth and maturation.

these are essentials and supplies that I stock, things that I keep around to look my absolute best and that are non negotiables despite their decidedly unsexy nature. I was taught that half my faith was about being clean (ifykyk), cleanliness reigns supreme in my culture, you can't be beautiful without having scrupulous hygiene. These are the key staples I use almost every day.
â I like using antibacterial soapâit helps keep my skin feeling fresh and clean. It also helps to effectively eliminate any unwanted odors.
â I use a facial shaver to tackle peach fuzz twice a week to keep my skin smooth and glowing, and really enhance my makeup application.
â I use BHA on my feet to exfoliate dead skin and keep them super soft, they always feel smooth and fresh afterward.
â I incorporate kefir into my daily routine for its benefits on gut health and digestion and for the most radiant skin.
â A metal tongue scraper is very effective for removing buildup on the tongue. I ditched my plastic one, this one is far more effective.
â Oiling my scalp with Rosemary oil an hour before taking a shower to promote hair growth and healthy shiny hair.
â I always sleep in 100% cotton underwear for breathability and comfort, cotton helps regulate the temperature down there.
â I use a high-percentage urea moisturizer to keep my body soft and smooth, it's hydrating and exfoliating at the same time.
â I floss every day to remove plaque and keeps my gums healthy. It helps prevent bad breath and I feel a lot cleaner.
â I use an aluminum-based deodorant to stay fresh and prevent any sweat, it effectively controls odor and moisture.
â I apply Johnsonâs baby oil (the pink one) in the shower, itâs a game-changer for keeping my skin super soft, silky and hydrated.
â I always start with the Dove bar soap for sensitive skin to get a good, clean base, before I go in with a scented body shower gel.Â
