I should start to work in the prompts for the SomeFubu week 2020.
I just finished the prompts for the KdFd week 2020. Probably Iâll upload it this Friday. I hope +1 month would be enough this time. (âïčâ)
Having penguins bite your shins canât be really healthy there, Sakuma.
Me, in all the games/seasons after her introduction:Â
About Nae, probably the change in her personality was another reason for you to dislike her! I mean, Nae in the Inazuma Eleven: Outer Code was more like Natsumi in her âintroductionâ but in the final product, Inazuma Eleven Ares, she was a totally different character. (Personally I liked the change but I know this kind of change can disappoint you).
Now, about the internalized misogyny, I think this happens very often but we donât like to admit. And itâs easily noticeable when we like the trope with characters of any gender that isnât female. Or when we dislike a character just because she's introduced as "x character's possible romantic interest" and we ignore all her development because of that single fact.
For example, the first time that I watched Inazuma Eleven I disliked/almost hated Fuyuka Kudou but I loved Tachimukai Yuuki. Both are two âcinnamon rolls that did nothing wrongâ, but I coulnât help but disliked Fuyuka.
Sometimes, it is mixed with the antagonization of the character. We see their actions as wrong, doesnât matter what. And we convince ourselves that our vision of the events is correct. Talking about Fuyuka, I almost hated her after the scene with Edgar & Endou because I saw her as the âclassic girl that does nothing when someone handsome is hurting her friendâ. Of course, I was 100% wrong, Fuyuka was just being polite but I didnât see it that way because I hated female characters that are quiet and look âmeekâ. Because that is how âwe should beââŠquiet, meek, always in silence. And well, I'm just tired of this trope with female characters.
Sorry, Iâm writing a lot.Â
Anyway, my point isâŠone of the reasons why I disliked Fuyuka was because of my internalized misogyny (related to stuff I hate about myself, but that isnât related to the topic).Â
Even if we don't want to accept it, It's easily noticeable when you see that most of the hated characters are female even when Inazuma (Anime) 90% of the characters are male. đđ»ââïž
Hi! Just wondering, what do you think about Shiratoya Nae? To be honest, I don't really like how her character was portrayed (even if she was only centralized in 2 episodes)... Or maybe it's just because I'm fed up of the whole 'cheerful and bubbly' anime girl trope in an attempt to make them cute. Tysm!~
Hello Anny, sadly I cannot agree with you!
I could never be fed up by cheerful and bubbly characters, regardless of their gender, they are so bright and make me so happy! So I really really love Nae and how she still manages to grow despite appearing in only two episodes ehe
If I had to be completely honest, I find more tiring the âedgy at all costsâ and possibly tsundere characters. Being edgy and not liking anything isnât a personality trait :3 in my opinion, so Iâll stick to bubbly bunnies and well rounded characters with actual depthđ
Also, if I may add, ofc I donât know you so take this from a gal who is generally guessing, but it could be that you donât like cheerful and bubbly female characters because of internalised misoginy- Iâm saying this because for me it was like that, it can ofc not be the case here! But lots of times is because of that. We grow up surrounded by genderised things, the bonbard us since little telling us that girls are cute and pink and cheerful! And that girls like that are also frivolous and dumb for liking pastel pinkand soft plushies- so, in order to distance ourselves from that forced role, to prove we are not dumb and frivolous, we push away everything that is cute and soft and bubbly, thus falling in the trap of the patriarchy amd hating certain girlsâ traits (if you do not identify as a girl this apply as well, just that you do not distance yourself to not look like that but simply assimilate those stereotypes and think theyâre the norm).
And mind you, this could really not be your case, but after years of self reflection, I found out that was the reason why I hated pink and disliked âsilly female charactersâ. But now I said fuck you to the patriarchy and I OWN everything soft and pink and bubbly and cute!
But anyway, regrdless of why the reason for your dislike might be, thank you for the ask and go love whatever type of character it is you love!
Iâm boring so, if someone wanna send a â + an opinion (popular or not) about Inazuma Eleven. My askbox is open.
