Lately, I’ve been watching Inazuma Eleven again and I realized something… Kageyama and Fudou have a talk during the Shin Teikoku Arc, and the man says:

“You tried to use me and fought as a member of Shin Teikoku to defeat Raimon so that person would acknowledge you.”

I don’t know why, this line has always been a mystery to me. On my second and third viewings, I thought Kageyama was talking about Fudou’s mother since she always wanted him to be powerful, and defeating Raimon would prove that. But as I watched this scene again I thought “wait, why would Fudou’s mother have anything to do with soccer and Raimon? Why would she need soccer to acknowledge her son’s power ?“

Soccer is Fudou’s world, and it’s his way of being strong. Unlike many other families in the show, soccer had nothing to do with the Fudous’ downfall, so it wouldn’t make sense for his mother to need him to be a powerful player.

Then another eventuality would be that “that person”… is Kidou? I mean, Fudou seems to know everything about him, the fact he was Teikoku’s captain, how they lose a game to Raimon and then Zeus, etc… But HOW ? How can he know Kidou? They’re not even living in the same city! I’m kind of frustrated that the show never explained that.

My thought is that Fudou learned soccer in the streets. He’s not bad, even though he has never trained seriously, unlike Kidou; he’s better than all of his gang friends and grows hungry for high-level soccer. He’s not part of a school team, so he can’t participate in the FF, but since he thinks he can find power in soccer, he looks for the best players of his age and finds out about Teikoku being undefeated for 40 years.

Knowing he can’t join them (because he can’t afford to go to their school), he decides to defeat Teikoku and think about Kidou as his ultimate rival, waiting for the day they would finally meet and fight. When Teikoku is defeated by Raimon and Zeus, Fudou is extremely disappointed, and I guess this is the moment Kageyama finds him (or the moment he finds Kageyama). He gets the Aliea stone and his mixed feelings of envy/admiration/disillusion/jealousy stir up his thirst for power. That must be why he scouts to Genda and Sakuma to be part of Shin Teikoku : because he still considers Teikoku’s players as “first-rate players”. 

Well, it’s my take on it. I wish the show had explained Fudou’s link with soccer, though, and especially his obsession with with Teikoku.

And I’d love to know if you guys have another theory about it ! 

yknow ever since people realized tumblr isnt dead and have decided to flock here from twitter and tiktok ive seen a huge influx of people in fandom spaces who dont reblog anything. at all.

like, i used to have an art blog with 340 followers. not a ton but not a small amount either given how this website works with creators. and in my experience back then even the ones who only left likes still reblogged other things or at least posted their own stuff. literally the only empty blogs were clearly bots.

but on this New art blog, i've had so many people with fandom-specific headers and icons with actual usernames as urls and some kind of title or description, but have. Nothing. no posts. all they do is like things. and it's always public, too. their following list and their likes list.

and honestly all it makes me think is that these people are New and also don't know how tumblr works. how likes don't give exposure. not even in a "oh, i know it doesn't give exposure, but i'm still going to reblog anyways" way, but in a genuine honest to god straight up doesn't realize tumblr likes don't work like twitter's.

PLEASE please if you're from tiktok or twitter or whatever please reblog people's art both fandom and original if you like it!! and maybe actually pad out your blog's content in some way so people won't potentially see you as a bot and block you.
