Everyone, I'm really worried for Mahmoud's family (@mahmoudfamily1) in Gaza. His campaign barely has any donations, and there have been continuous attacks on Nuseirat refugee camp where his 17 family members are staying. I've posted about it here and here. Things have only gotten worse today.
Two houses in Nuseirat have been bombed today, killing at least 13 people and injuring dozen others. A lot of the people killed are women and children. More than one-third of the people martyred today as of right now is from Nuseirat.
In the past few days people in Nuseirat has suffered from drone attacks, air raids, bombing of family homes and ambulances. Mahmoud's family, including several children and a two-year-old baby are stuck in Nuseirat right now. They have no money to evacuate. And in addition to the bombing they also have to deal with the cold, the heavy rain and the shortage of food and clean water.
Mahmoud's campaign is really struggling. Donations are tickling in really slowly and sometimes he doesn't even get 1 donation a day. He hasn't even reached 1% of his campaign goal. The lives 17 people depend on these funds, please donate, and if not at least share so it can reach more people!

The song comes from the children's show Mooda Moody (مودا مودي) which airs on Spacetoon (you can watch it on Dailymotion as well!) It is about two funny sisters with different attitudes in solving their daily problems.
Translated, the song is about Mooda and Moody going around telling their parents what good deeds they did that day. In the first part of the song, Mooda tells her dad she cleaned her room and her father congratulates her. Next, Moody tells her mum she picked flowers for grandmother, who then kissed her and gave her sweets. Mooda then tells her dad she helped the neighbour move heavy stuff, which the neighbour thanked her for by praying that she and her family will live a long and happy life. Moody then tells her mum she played with her cousin today, and lent her her pens and colouring pencils so she could draw. The song ends with the parents singing.
Last Wednesday, Farah told me occupiers bombed a tent nearby her camp. Everyday, she hopes the Rafah border opens so her family can evacuate as soon as possible. Everyday, she instead walks to the internet point to campaign online, as there has been nothing conclusive about when that will happen.
I light a candle every morning, which is around the same time Farah will walk home in the evening, for a safe journey home.

Help a Family from Gaza Rebuild After Losing Everything
My name is Mohammed, a 22-year-old from Gaza. Before the war, my father worked in the West Bank to support our family. However, since the war began, we lost all contact with him. Now, the responsibility of taking care of my family fell on me and my twin brother hosam. Tragically, my brother was killed by a sniper while simply trying to bring food for our family.
Today, I am left alone, trying to care for my mother, Jamila, my five siblings—Yasmin, Asma, Nermin, Jameel, and Ahmed—and my grandmother, who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Our lives were already challenging, but the war shattered everything. I used to work to support us with my car, but it was destroyed in a bombing, leaving me unemployed.
My eldest sister, Yasmin, is battling cancer while trying to complete her university studies. She has finished two years of her bachelor's degree, but now she desperately needs urgent medical treatment to continue fighting her illness.
Another sister, Asma, graduated with an outstanding GPA of 91.8% and was working as a lecturer at Al-Aqsa University before the war. She dreams of continuing her education and pursuing a master’s degree.
The airstrikes destroyed our only safe haven—our home. We were forced to flee to southern Gaza, seeking refuge in Rafah. But even there, we had to evacuate and move to Khan Younis, though we had to stay on the move, never finding lasting safety.
Now, we are left homeless, without an income, and with very limited access to basic necessities. We live in constant fear, unsure of what tomorrow holds. Our situation is dire, and we are in desperate need of help to cover Yasmin's medical expenses, continue my siblings' education, and care for my grandmother and the rest of my family.
Any support you can offer will help us rebuild our lives and endure this unimaginable hardship. Your generosity can give my family a chance to heal, pursue their education, and live without the constant threat of losing everything.

Imagine that you live in a place that does not provide you with complete protection from the weather, a place where water leaks and cold air, and a place that does not believe in the sincerity of emotion. This is the reality my sisters and my family live in tents, in the winter, when it rains and the temperature drops partially.

Evacuation is not equal access
This is something that is CRUCIAL to remember as Hurricane Helene impacts Florida and the surrounding areas. There are so, so many factors that can effect a person's ability to evacuate, even if they want to. Things like:
What languages was the evacuation information distributed in?
Was the information made accessible to deaf and blind people?
Was it made accessible to people regardless of their age?
Was it made accessible to people regardless of their access to or use of technology?
Were there transportation methods available to get people to evacuation points if they don't have transportation of their own? Did those methods actually access everywhere that needed them?
Were the transportation methods for people without cars, both to the evacuation point and then to the actual evacuation site, accessible to all manner of abilities?
Was there support for single parents?
Was clear, understandable information provided about where people would be evacuated to and what would happen once they were there?
Was there support for undocumented immigrants that fear deportation if they accept help?
Was there support for the homeless population?
Then, of course, there's the larger structural issues:
Can the roads actually handle the amount of people trying to get out?
On those roads, what support is there for vehicles that breakdown or run out of gas? Or people who have a medical emergency while evacuating?
Are the places they are evacuating to even ready and able to take them?
And that all just BARELY scratches the surface of how complex evacuations are. It is not an easy choice to leave no matter who you are, but for some people it isn't even a choice at all because they were never given the option in the first place, and that is not their fault.

The prevention of medicine and cleaning supplies, along with contaminated water, has led to the proliferation of skin diseases in him.
