She was taken advantage of by anybody close to her and coddled as this precious innocent baby. When she goes to school she acts out every impulse as she's now free from her controlling mother, which makes her a perfect target for Darkstalker to manipulate and use as a pawn for his greater plan. She was a brat because she was a young girl who has never known what a healthy and normal relationship was like
