FAIRYTALE AND MYTHOLOGY RETELLINGS LET'S GOOO. If you have any to recommend me to read, I'd love to check them out!
I love how you stay in the ya genre, it's the genre I'm hoping to get back in and read about (mostly ya fantasy, because I've been in the ya contemporary range for a while haha).
And you're literally reading everything I want to read/should check out, because I feel so behind hahah. Omg the old barbies and winx club... I am seeing my childhood flash before my eyes.
Where is Sera at? it sounds like she's near a tavern/bar, with how rowdy the guests become later in the night. And I love your descriptions of the area/the atmosphere that transitions later into the night!

“How can I?” I mutter, leaning back in my chair. “Even I know when a relationship is over. Especially because I ended it. Besides…”

@tam-is-writing lmaoo I love how you're like uhhhh because that's such a mood. honestly I don't know what genre I'm good at either, just hoping someone enjoys something I write pfft.
oooh steampunk! and Brandon Sanderson! I need to branch out from my contemporary genres more, I swear...
DAMNNNN LET'S GO CAYN. Honestly the fact that Cayn has Mal's back is so wholesome, despite what people think (because there's always going to be someone thinking something).

favorite or latest line from your current wip: [latest line, because what a mood- from Destination Seoul] Ha. Per usual, the universe hates me.
🌺 rate your OCs by how attractive you personally find them and why or if you're not attracted to any, just rank them by how cool they look
🌿 describe your narrative style, multiple POVs? Present or past tense? 1st person or 3rd? Why did you choose that for your WIP?
🌼 pick an OC and put them on blast. Call out their flaws, complain about what males them difficult to write, etc.
... *hides because I take forever in replies*
🌺 omg this feels so cruel aHHH
sohee - 9/10 bc she has that badass cat-eye look and because i'm biased and her sarcastic personality is the best
taeyoung - 8/10 because sometimes he loves dressing like a homeless person and honestly that's such a vibe lmaoo but he's more of a soft character c:
hyeri - 7/10 because beauty isn't everything & part of it is because she struggles with the traditional korean beauty standards but her heart is beautiful and i love her.
gumiho (to be named) - 10/10 bc mythical creatures pffttt
🌿 definitely 1 pov. i like going in depth with characters, and I think unless I learn to extensively plot, multiple povs will be the bane of my existence haha.
OKAY but have you ever like written in past tense and then realized you suddenly switched to present?? because I never had this issue but THEN i started writing destination seoul in present tense and NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
1st person, usually for contemporary and 3rd for fantasy. idk why, but it works for me that way haha.
🌼 ... here's my long post of rants answering this haha.

honestly haven't been doing much writing but recently shifting through some korean myths for some inspiration! recently researching 10 gates of hell kind of thing, and the several gods or goddesses that aid a spirit to the underworld!
let me know what kind of projects/ideas/thoughts you've been writing as well :)
Anyone want to rumble about what you have written/thought of for your projects recently? What you have been up to basically? How are you writing projects going?
I'm bored & have time + craving some interaction
I’m getting back into fantasy again (slowly but surely) so if anyone has some good book recs please let me know! 💗
@claryfrayed ... i'm so sorry this took so long + i took forever to respond. but this is me responding (because I wanted to!). i'm just, again, sorry it took like centuries haha.
can we just talk about how good your book tastes are?? it feels like forever ago since I read most of them, but they feel like classics to me now. pjo (a given), anything marvel is worth watching because marvel knows what they're doing. I've only read book 1 of the Lunar Chronicles, but I really want to try the rest of the series, so I'll have to! [I've never tried the Shadowhunters, please convince me].
STEPHANIE GARBER. LITERALLY I love her books. How to train your dragon and big hero six are also childhood classics for me, ahhhhhh
Your wip lines are breaking my heart. Like the first few lines, I could feel his loneliness and how it felt like everybody had someone but him. ):

It’s complicated.
You’d think I’d be more excited, coming to Korea over summer break. But this is a mandatory family roasting session in the guise of a meeting. Trying not to topple over while dragging the luggage bag from the taxi’s trunk, I glance up at the 11-story apartment. It’s quiet. No hands sticking out through the nets, no voice shrieking our names.
I don’t know whether to be worried or relieved.
