Hey, writeblr. Let’s reconnect.

I’ve been a part of the community here for a while now (two years maybe? wowzers), but my dash has gone a little drier than I’d like while my time online was limited by school. I want to connect more with anyone who’s active, new or old, mutual or not!

(TL;DR - I’m a writeblr looking for new writeblrs to follow.)

I’ll (re)introduce myself.

I’m in my early twenties (she/her), and I just finished my first year of medical school. My bachelor’s degree is in psychology and pre-professional health science. I live in the southern US. I write primarily fantasy and read all genres! I post about my writing, my journey, writing strategies and tools, and I reblog a lot from other writing blogs.

My WIPs:

Currently I have two active WIPs, both high fantasy. The first, The Calm Before, is a project I’ve been conceptualizing and re-conceptualizing for a few years. I’ve just started an outline for it and hope to get it off the ground over the summer. You can read the WIP intro here, full summary here, and character intros one, two, three, and four, but I don’t post much about it anymore since it’s under more “serious” construction! does anyone else just get the urge or want to do a writing sprint with writers / mutuals because the amount of chaos it would be-

this really has officially turned into an outline in 24 hr challenge 🥹 and I think I’ve been staring at this plot line for the last 2 hrs

24hr novel challenge

going to try and write a novel in 24 hrs (which we know I won't, since I didn't even finish this goddamn outline but it's more like watch as I try to finish this OUTLINE in 24 hrs so I can finally write my book in time for nano)

and who knows, maybe if I finish plotting like I said I would the last 7 months I'll try the 24 hr novel attempt all over again.

also if anything is wondering here's an awful and quick put together summary of what i'm working on (aka my historical fantasy set in korea during the joseon era) where a disease goes around where people are suddenly clawing their hearts out and bari disguises herself as her brother in order to become one of the king's personal guards and bring a cure to her dying father

posture a fuck

getting back into writing recently with all my outlines and such, and just thinking about writing over 75K makes me not want to write, because i'm so nervous that i'll fail.

but if you're feeling the same, I just wanted to let you know:

you can do it. take it one scene at a time. fall in love with your characters, get excited for their developments and the next upcoming scene.

you can't edit a blank page.

and it's okay if writing is hard. sometimes being a writer isn't simply putting words on the page, but it's showing up to write anyways. because your brain is constantly working on that story in the back of your mind.
