AI is a marketing term. It means nothing(somewhere between GAI and an if statment) Generative AI is also a marketing term meaning basically the same ( Somewhere between GAI and an if statement... that outputs a file ) .

So demand people act like professionals and use real terms. Because real people are doing good work and should not be lumped together with the bullshit brigade

i hatehatehate that the modern generative models have all fallen under the term "AI". none of this is AI and AI is being used to talk about like 5 different things. trying to discuss anything is such a pain in the ass cause if i want to talk basically anything machine learning it just gets lumped into the same demon pile

Direct quote from a meeting today about use of LLM's

Moose: "Are... are you saying... in this meeting with 80% of people who use these tools are sitting... that we do not have to follow the firm guidelines if we do not like them?

Person giving the presentation: "Yeah, I think that would ok."

Why? Because he thinks marking the output of LLM's so we can keep track of what is LLM generated and be more suspicious of it was an unreasonable amount of work...

To avoid that work he just removed any and all restrictions of use of these tools for anything from customer contact and documentation to coding and security.
