If you interact with my Native issues posts, I see you, I appreciate you; and you're a real one. I cannot tell you how sad it is to me that I can post anything about Gaza (which is important) and get tons of reblogs and shit; I can post anything about LGBT issues (which is also important) and get a ton of reblogs and comments and all that. I can post anything about Black issues, Genocide, Antisemitism, Ableism (you know, all important things to talk about and raise awareness for) and I'll come back to almost immediately like 30 - 50 notifications.

Then I say "hey you guys realize this shit is happening to Natives?" and it's SILENCE.

Sometimes I even get anon hate telling me I'm wrong/selfish and need to shut up.

This is the state of being Native in a world that says "Down with Sexism, down with Racism, down with Genocide! Unless it's going to stop me from enjoying my extremely racist mobile games or MMOs that exploit my attachment to/dependency on waifuism... but I won't tolerate goblins that have stereotypes!"

Like I cannot tell you how much it sucks to see everyone lose their minds when Hogwarts Legacy came out and we were all on board with "hey these goblins, who are the main antagonist of the game; have Jewish stereotypes and that's wrong" but then it's silence and looking the other way when I go "The Genshin Devs literally referenced Native Americans for their main antagonists and fodder enemies." IT'S THE SAME THING.

Like what am I supposed to take away from that silence?

And worse over is every time I say this I get hate for it, I get yelled at about how others matter too. YES THEY DO, BUT SO DO WE. I'm not saying others don't matter, I'm saying we're never given the same fucking consideration!

hi good evening its about 11pm and im having thoughts about sinclair again so im typing them out

i think a lot of people see demian as like... the good ending/ultimate goal for sinclair, and while he is in a lot of ways, i dont think that's ultimately his role. i think there's a certain disconnect between demian and sinclair that needs to be acknowledged before either of them can really reach each other.

im pretty sure we all know about kromer's themes of nurture, with how much she wants to raise sinclair and mold him into her ideal, but i think we should talk about demian's themes of nature/absence. if kromer is an ever present figure, then demian is the opposite. he's pretty much completely absent from sinclair's story. in fact, it could be argued that there would be little loss if demian was entirely removed from sinclair's flashbacks, despite his significance to sinclair. demian wants to see sinclair blossom in his pure, unaltered state, but he fails to account for the fact that there truly is no "unaltered" state of a being. demian was one of sinclair's closest friends, and one of the people he relied upon the most, and when sinclair arguably needed him the most, he completely vanished.

i think it's because of demian's absence that dante is so important. fundamentally, sinclair's relationships between kromer and demian are unbalanced. he sees both of them as above himself on some subconscious level. however dante, someone who he was able to connect with on a more even level, does not have such an unbalanced relationship with sinclair. while yes, dante is his manager, it's still apparent that their relationship is more of a balanced one, as both are able to take and receive criticism from each other. unlike demian and kromer, dante maintains balance between nurture and nature with sinclair, comforting him while he is down, but not controlling his actions when he's up.

before sinclair and demian can truly connect with each other, a major shift needs to happen in their relationship. otherwise, sinclair will still see himself as below demian and demian will still disconnect himself from sinclair. in general, there is some form of disconnect demian has with reality. this is not to say that he's naive or prejudiced, but rather that he's definitely not as omnipotent as he comes across. much like sinclair, there is still plenty for him to learn as well. people don't just stop growing when they become adults, there is still plenty of change and movement left inside of them, just like any other plant or animal.

(though not to the same extent as you do) And I feel bad because there isn't much I can do about it at the moment, but I can at least try to help get other people's voices out. So I'm doing my part in helping people out. It's so important to be seen and heard!!!!

You know being a Native who enjoys video games is rough.

FFXIV has an antagonist who literally calls the player a "savage" and is one of the most thirsted over racist assholes in the community. I'm not saying a villain can't be racist, hell there's nothing I love more than kicking someone's ass after they use a racial slur against me. Though to be fair I doubt we'd ever hear anyone in any game use the N word outside of like, GTA where they almost never have it said by anyone who's not black, and never with a hard R. Not saying it's okay or anything mind you, but hearing it used in the way it's being reclaimed; by the people reclaiming it is a lot less harmful than having a blonde haired white man show up, call me a racial slur; and then decide "actually you're my friend and I love you and everyone in the community is going to thirst for my white man dick" while also having extremely racist depictions of Native clothing in the game that the player can wear, and that FFXIV players continue to refer to as "Ala Mhigan" even when that's a fictional race of people and Native Americans are very real, still alive; and having their culture constantly stolen, twisted, and mocked by video games...

Speaking of which don't even get me STARTED on Genshin Impact.

cathy is one hell of a person, but you cant say she didnt want what was best for her and heathcliff. cathy was smart and knew for a fact what would happen if she tried to marry for love, but she was in an era where that was impossible. even in their arguments, catherine and heathcliff perfectly even eachother out. unfortunately her plan kind of blew up in her face, but she at least tried to cake her cake and eat it too.

i can't find it but. once again thinking about that post about how people think cathy is selfish and narcissistic for thinking she can marry and still have another person that she loves but instead she correctly understands marriage is about ownership and property while love to her is something else completely different. only take on her ever
