PROMPT:

why is bob such a bob?? what terrible trauma caused his bob-ness?...

OH OH ALRIGHTY YES!!! ARGGG LET ME REMEMBER IT GRAHH REFLECTIONS IN LAST FRACTURE LORE (bob lore) so basically: RB was made with the purpose of withstanding the rot, he was the first and only prototype for this model (i say first and only because Reflections in Last Fracture was no longer allowed to work on iterators and got all his permits taken away after this, thus wasn't able to continue on with this project) it took a while to build and program RB, even more time to get this project approved. Reflections in Last Fracture was trying to approve this project with 15 Swords of Crimson (the highest ranking council member from the colony in which Reflections in Last Fracture was from) when the incident happened now you see, RB was basically ready to be "tested" (basically give him a bit of rot and see how he handles it, in theory it should have none to little effect on him, and he should be able to withstand it without it spreading significantly), and Reflections in Last Fracture was very confident in this turning out exactly how he planned it to. i need you to keep in mind that Reflections in Last Fracture wasn't a great ancient, he is a rather uncooperative and mean guy. unfortunately RB had to deal with this guy too, especially with the arguments these two had almost every time Reflections in Last Fracture would visit. RB was also somewhat of a bastard but not so much yet, he was a lot less mean than what he became later on. anyways back to the incident: Reflections in Last Fracture was accompanied by 15 Swords of Crimson and 42 Strikes (who couldn't stop being worried that this will all go wrong) when this happened. Reflections in Last Fracture inserted a sample of rot into the rot container and neutralizer system (RCN system) he always did this during a demonstration and so far in all of the demonstrations RB's structure has been handling it quite well (despite RB's constant complaints about it), so no doubt this will work during the final and most important demonstration before the project is fully approved... right? nope! apparently some rot managed to mess up a part or two in the RCN system !! something that Reflections in Last Fracture hadn't checked up on due to his pride and ego getting in the way of his sight, apparently, according to RB! so seeing that something messed up, Reflections in Last Fracture went back to RB's chamber (with 15 Swords of Crimson and 42 Strikes following along) to make sure if RB was just ill or straight up dead. yeah... it was BAD... well, sounded bad when the machinery tried to neutralize the rot and completely failed and just kind of jammed up and stopped working welp RB wasn't happy in fact he was in pain and very angry! well RB complained like he ussualy does, Reflections in Last Fracture may have lost his temper and yelled at the poor bastard a little, to which RB has had enough and gave him the brain zap (that pebbles sometimes does, except with RB its not deadly, just stuns you for a bit) OH THIS WAS NOT GOOD REFLECTIONS IN LAST FRACTURE WAS MAD MAD REALLY MAD a whole bunch of yelling later and Reflections in Last Fracture was kicked out of the council for unethical treatment of an iterator (even back during gen 1 where there was basically almost no laws for this, it was still frowned upon to treat your iterator badly), and RB got a restriction protocol coded in which it took away 50% of his water intake (closed half of the water collecting pipes), and will take away 25% more if RB zaps another ancient, or even just raises his voice at an ancient. Reflections in Last Fracture never saw RB after that incident just kind of left the poor dehydrated bastard to rot 42 strikes attempting to help RB but RB was too delirious and angry to care, just kicked 42 strikes out of his district. rest in pieces, Rotting Balance (he's not dead but we're still hosting a funeral for all of the hopes and dreams that he lost smh)

AH YES THE SISTERS ARE DONE

AH YES THE SISTERS ARE DONE

Stare of Thirteen Stars

Stars is the older sister of Seas and senior of their group. Obsessed with the triple affirmative and ascension in general.

She is very strict and not easy to talk to. They are especially strict with Sea due to thinking she is quite… immature. Stars usually hangs around sliverist groups despite their sister’s constant complaints about them.

She is based of the long eared owl and the night sky cuz, obviously. Also a lil bit of the biblically accurate angel.

silly ahh ancient oc idea

ancient so tied to the carnal plane that not even the void or the echoes could help it tried to ascend but was rejected by the void so badly that they didn't even become an echo, their strong will literally just created them a new body out of void and they crawled out of the void lake like that. now they're just out there??

augh the urge to ramble about RB he's such a train wreck of a dude ....

YOU- It's time you spill the beans about your lil guys, Ramble about them! I want to hear EVERYTHING

EVERYTHING?? ...that's a lot of stuff wow okay

I've rambled about Glittering Oceans before... so you get backstory for Ashes from Above and the Mechanic :)

First off: They're both collab ocs!! A friend of mine had an open spot in their oc local group and I had a concept for an iterator and scug, so we put our two braincells together and now Ash has friends!! (Not gonna say who I'm working with by the way. You'll all just have to suffer until whatever grand reveal we end up doing lol)

Ash was very close with their ancients-- and I mean *very* close. The absolute best of friends, cool older sibling figure kind of close. They were especially really good... 'friends' with an ancient named 13 Fireflies Amongst Falling Leaves (whose design is in progress, but she was a graffiti artist!)

The mass ascension broke them-- in a literal sense. When it was first announced Ash tried to convince some of their ancients to stay behind with them-- and a handful of them agreed to try!! (Including Fireflies ;) And then one cycle, about a year after the initial mass ascension, Ash has a severe system failure. They're completely disconnected from their structure, in complete darkness and unbearable pain. Eventually their mentor figure in the local group manages to send a program that resets their structure-- and Ash is fine. They didn't have any severe equipment failure... no glitches in their code......

Their remaining ancients disabled their key systems so they could ascend without having to deal Ashes. And during that dark period while Ash was barely hanging on... their last few ancients, their best friends... left them. Without a word. Without saying goodbye.

Ash copes through anger. Buries their grief in jokes and pranks on their local group.

They get especially close with two iterators in their local group-- one of whom is just as devastated by the mass ascension and the other of whom is just as chaotic as Ash is (in a more wholesome sense, however).

They pick up engineering-- take scrap metal from their own structure to make useless gadgets. It helps pass the time.

At some period they start to think about their purpose. Why they're still here, still functioning and whole.

They have no reason to solve the Great Problem. Why should they want to?? Ascension solves nothing. Ascension only ever causes pain for the ones left behind. And there will always be someone left behind.

The cycle will go on, continuing to trap everything in its grasp. Why should only some get the privilege of escaping their prison?

Ash changes their goals.

They're no longer working to break the cycle.

They're working to shatter it.

More??? You want more??????????

Jeez okay sure-- I'll talk about Mechanic a bit, I guess

The Mechanic was a slugpup, part of a clan of nomadic scugs traveling through AFA's facility. The conditions were harsh, there was next to no food, and the colony was struggling to survive.

The elder scugs eventually made the decision to leave the youngest scugs behind. They were simply slowing the colony down and sacrifices needed to be made for any of them to survive.

Mechanic was the only one of these slugpups to survive. Ash eventually takes notice of the little fuzzball, this abandoned kud with a fierce desperation to live. Ash sees themselves in little Mech, and leads it up through their structure, with the intent of keeping it safe until it can fend for itself.

Mechanic sticks around. Ash begrudgingly lets it.

At some point Ash notices Mech's knack for crafting and understanding technology. Ash is a big tinkerer (their main hobby is making useless gadgets out of scrap metal!), and Mech is picking up engineering really quickly.

Eventually Ash officially adopts Mech, and enlists it to be their official structure technician and mechanic (that's where their name comes from!)

Despite Mechanic's intelligence, it's not actually very.... smart.

You can find it frequently staring at absolutely nothing.

It likes to try and eat things that are obviously not food (Ash has had to do the heimlich on it far too many times (it likes eating rocks))

It takes lots of naps and is a snuggle bug.

It picked up Ash's sense of humor and likes to 'prank' other creatures (such as taunting a lizard by sitting and looking tasty juuuuuuust a little too far away for the lizor to grab it)

It hoards shiny things that it thinks Ash might like (Ash actually does appreciate this a bit-- sometimes it'll bring them a useful part!)

Anyway yeah. Basic ✨️lore✨️ for my two newest silliest.

Expect more soon I can't get them out of my brain help
