ROADQUEEN Author Crowdfunds New Vampire LGBTQ+ Graphic Novel

Mira Ong Chua, author of the queer graphic novels Boodbye, Battle Princess Peony, and ROADQUEEN: Eternal Roadtrip to Love has crowdfunded a new title on Kickstarter. The new work, Vampire Blood Drive, is an 18+ queer vampire/human romcom graphic novel.

Vampire Blood Drive is based on a short comic by Ong Chua, My Very First Vampire Blood Drive!, one of her most popular comics. The graphic novel includes retouched versions of the original one-shots My Very First Vampire Blood Drive and Vampire Blood Drive 2, along with three never-before-published chapters. In total, the book is over 250+ pages.

The author describes the graphic novel:

All Bunny wants is to live a perfectly normal student life, but things aren’t what they seem at Bloodhorne University! When she’s swept off her feet at her college’s annual blood drive by dashing butch vampire Velvet, she’s forced to choose between sticking to her ideals...or getting sucked!

Join Bunny and Velvet as they ward off horny vampire hunters, try to pick up girls in a communal queer vampire mansion, fall prey to playboy princes from beyond the deep, and come to one final, life-changing decision that will shape their eternal future in this hilarious, sexy short story collection from author and artist Mira Ong Chua.

The graphic novel's Kickstarter campaign has raised almost $50,000 at the time of writing, surpassing its $20,000 goal with 16 days left to go.

Stretch goals for the campaign include a bookmark and concept art gallery, both of which have already been met, and a full-color gallery, cover embossing, and a bonus comic.
