This footwork is lightly drifting just like the snowflakes swirling in the air when the wind blows, just like the wisps of clouds blocking the moon. [2] (Wen Kexing, Episode 2)

[1] 流云九宫步 lit. “flowing clouds, nine palaces steps”

[2] This phrase originates from the poem 《洛神赋》 Ode to the Nymph of the Luo River (223 AD) by 曹植 Cao Zhi. It describes the author’s imaginary encounter with the ghost of his older brother Cao Pi’s recently deceased wife Lady Zhen, describing his love and yearning for her.
