a/n - hello! okay so when i said i was writing a 5000+ word long hakyeon fic i was not fucking joking, i didn’t come here to piss fart around mate. this is probably the longest standalone i’ve written, and it took all my remaining willpower after finishing dragon age to finish this pure filth off. also, thanks to tumblr’s complete and utter incompetence, this is actually shorter than what i had originally planned it to be. 100 text blocks isn’t enough sometimes you bastards. anyway please enjoy some freshly baked sin!! also this hasn’t been edited properly because i no longer care so do me a favour and don’t complain if there are any mistakes nbkjnjk

The gates of the king’s palace stand tall in front of you, sleek twisted metal reaching high into the sky, disappearing into the glittering sea of blackness above. There’s a chill in the air tonight, the gentle wind whipping against your face, cheeks red from the cold, skin covered in goosebumps. The shawl you’ve been leant does nothing to keep you warm, but the kind gesture from the lady of your house is enough to keep you happy.

But, you don’t know why you’re here. In the years you’ve been a servant for one of the many noble vampire families, never had you been invited along to the king’s palace. That was a luxury a rare few besides the nobles got to enjoy, the servants usually staying at home, cooking or cleaning and sneaking in a few extra minutes of sleep. You don’t belong in the company of the king, no one truly does.
