At the beginning of Farewell To the Fields (I think that's what it's called, don't come for me, I've been fixating on Birdcage Blue and Yellow), that tinkling sound - I perceived it as a music box.

What if these are meant to represent each other?

Cole is the clock, forever on bought time, forever on the run.
