Quintessence means to be the most perfect of something. I can't stop thinking about that definition, for a variety of reasons and let me tell you why.

Aether being the most perfect in his mates eyes, his laugh and smile. His curve and his belly, how he presents himself even in the most vulnerable state of his being. To his mates he is the most perfect, he is stunning even in their eyes.

Omega feeling down in his body and absolutely hating how he looks, Terzo and Alpha worshipping every inch of it and whispering soft praises into his skin as they slowly take him apart and make him feel so loved and cherished.

Phantom who was insecure and worried about how the others will take to him, his pack mates pulling him into soft embraces and whispering praises and secrets into his skin as he allows himself to relax and be at peace with himself.

All three of these ghouls are the absolute definition of quintessence,they have a beauty so strong that even the stars can't rival how they look. To their pack mates they are the definition of perfection and beauty even in their most vulnerable and lowest states.

Oh a thought a thought a thought- What if Storyteller has a little library just on the edges of the hayfields? And he keeps copies of stories like a well attended Library of Alexandria but just on a bit of a smaller scale

Domestic thoughts

- Soil fights in Mountain's garden.

- Horror movie nights. Oddly enough, Mountain is the most terrified and clings onto Phantom.

- The ghoulettes did the trend with bracelets made with beads of each other's eye colors.

- Aurora and Swiss are Just Dance champions.

- Cumulus teaching Phantom, Dew, and Swiss how to ice cupcakes because they're always so sloppy with it.

- Cumulus and Cirrus making flurries for the ghouls on hot summer days (referencing that scene at the end of Frozen).

- Swiss throwing "dancing parties" for all the ghouls to let loose and have fun.

- Dew letting the others make s'mores with his fire element.

- Aurora and Swiss sharing a kiss at the top of a Ferris wheel.

- Arts and crafts night. Cumulus and Mountain thrive.

Woah? Created ghoul angst? Holy shit? I'm not sorry for this at all.

Rain had a wife before he became a ghoul, he had a name and a family. His name was Arlo, he had a beautiful wife named Maria and a daughter named Ophelia and they were his entire world and more.

Whenever Rain went missing Maria never stopped searching for him, she spent weeks looking for any clues on his whereabouts and would keep herself awake for days on end thinking about him.

She found out she was pregnant a bit after he went missing, they were going to have another kid and he wasn't there to experience it. She would have to do everything on her own now, she refused to find another partner despite everyone begging her to move on for Ophelia and the babies sake.

She refused, she kept the search going despite everyone having given up hope already. She knew he was out there somewhere, she just had to figure out where.

Ophelia never stopped asking for him, poor little girl was heartbroken whenever her daddy couldn't show up for important things in her life. But Maria reassured her none the less, promising her he'd come back and they'd all be happy again.

Ophelia went missing one day, Maria nearly lost it whenever she couldn't find her baby back. First her husband and now her baby? What more could she lose?

She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, she named him after Arlo. He had his eyes and nose, he was perfection in her eyes. If only Arlo had been there to see him, Ophelia was so excited to meet her baby brother and now she couldn't.

At the church of the dark Lord a young Ghoulette would be thrust into the pack, Rain would recognize her but couldn't place where. But none the less he vowed to keep her safe, no matter what it took.

Now that I've had time to process Songs of Origin, I wonder if Cole's backstory isn't rather tragic? They sing about clashing hordes, stamping hooves, of hiding from someone. This is reflected in Hartebeest where the lyrics imply that Cole is like a rabbit running and hiding from the beast.

And then the line about "I say farewell to the fields, to the man made of straw, to my name." Did the Storyteller save Cole? Is that why it's so interested in the Harkers? And did Cole really change its name to be forgotten, or was it taken from them by someone?
