Once Dumbledore put Snape on probation and Slytherins just strike. They broke every rules. They disobeyed every order. They didn't care about house points they lost or detentions they got.They wanted their head of house back.After House Slytherin's hourglasses was empty and other professors and Filch couldn't spare their time to watch over Slytherin's detentions anymore, Dumbledore just gave in and asked Snape to resume his duty.Snape put a stop on the strike in short time and had serious talk with his disobedience Slytherins. It was a  year before Slytherin won the house cup 8 years in a row
