One thing I should definitely do is some organizing; now that tumblr does pinned posts it’ll be way easier to link all the fics and things I’ve posted here. I don’t remember my tagging system so i might revisit that as well...

I always found marker hard to use, so I’m impressed with how you got the flames to blend from white-hot to the darker blues at the edges--nice work! Thank you so much for drawing it, I love it!!

Are you a fan of the Mystery kids? The Gravity Falls, Psychonauts, Coraline, and Paranorman crossover?

Yes! I find it so cool! There’s a lot of potential there with a lot of overlapping stories!!

I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on a few things that would happen if I wrote my own plot of the story, I love the idea of it all happening in Gravity Falls though! So much mystery for such a quaint town!

Y’all ever think about how much Raz knows about psychology?

In the first game, when Lili tells him she’s been having knight sees about meat flowers he claims to have been “reading up on how to fix those”.

In the second game, he has this idle animation where he checks on his True Psychic Tales comic (issue 43, with Maligula on the cover). He also knows what Sensory Deprivation, Sensory Overload, and Panic Attacks. He also recites psychologist rhetoric, recommending to Compton to take regular breaks to help keep himself calm and centered.

I’m willing to bet that most of what he knows stems from what he’s read from his comic books, but how much you wanna bet this little nerd has like fifty thousand library cards—one from every town his family visits—and regularly checks out books on psychology and psychiatry to enable his psychic power hyperfixation? How much you wanna bet he had to learn how to read a monolith text within a few weeks before the family packed their things and moved to the next town.

No wonder the kid’s head is so massive.

There’s a reason I don’t delete blogs.

Well. One being that all too often, tumblr deletes all your blogs when you’re just trying to delete one sideblog.

But the one that’s relevant here is that while I may run out of motivation to create for a fandom, it rarely means I’ve lost interest entirely. I recently got to see Coraline in the theater, which was super cool! The release of Psychonauts 2 reminded me of exactly how much I love Psychonauts, as well as why I got into the mystery kids crossover. Paranorman will be in theaters in november, and you can bet I’ll be going to that. Needless to say, there’s a few reasons why Mystery Kids has been on my mind again. While I don’t know if i can pick up any of my old unfinished stories or do a lot more art, it felt like time to dust this blog off once more.

I know I left without any word, and abandoned a few projects in their midst... Unfortunately, things like burnout and fandom drama had gotten to me, and it felt better to leave and move on to other things. Maybe I’ll post what I had.

For now, I think this is where I’ll be reblogging stuff for Psychonauts 2--tagged for spoilers of course--as well as stuff from way back when that I never got around to reblogging. And I might have a couple new doodles too, but we’ll see.

If you’re still around from back when this blog was more active, I’m impressed--but if you happen to be new, well hey, welcome--I hope you look forward to seeing a bit of life around here ^^

So a small idea I had always entertained was that Gravity Falls tended to attract the weird as much as it produced it; I pretty much say as much in the little prologue I’d written almost two years ago, and it’s kind of the underlying explanation for why the kids all end up in Gravity Falls in most of my stories. Something about the place just draws weird things in.

And tonight’s episode of Gravity Falls basically confirmed this.

I know it’s not really big news, but I couldn’t let Halloween go by without posting something! It’s been two years since the release of the first Mystery Kids fan-animatic, and we’re still slowly working on ours as a follow-up.

Folks have been asking, so here it is: a plot summary for Mystery Kids and the Nightmare Mirror!

Only a few days after reigning in Doctor Loboto, trouble finds the Mystery Kids yet again– this time in the form of one Gideon Gleeful. When Coraline calls his bluff and the Psychonauts upstage him with real powers, he vows not to be outdone; he’s got a few tricks of his own and isn’t afraid of using everything at his disposal to destroy the Pines and anyone else who dares to stand in his way. And a cursed mirror might be just the thing…

And there you are; we’re still taking auditions for all parts, so don’t be shy! We’d love to have you!

Voice actors need to recite the predetermined lines located on the Audition Info page, and then send them to our email, mysterykidsproject2@gmail.com! Please label your tracks clearly. ESPECIALLY if you’re auditioning for more than one character.

Musicians and sound effects artists! You guys need to send us your samples! Please try to include a large variety for us to listen to in your email to mysterykidsproject2@gmail.com.

Video editors will need to put together a multimedia video for us, utilizing music, video clips, or still images to demonstrate their timing and also your rendering skills! For these, you can either submit your video straight to our inbox, or send us an email at mysterykidsproject2@gmail.com! We’d prefer material related to what we have going on here, but if you don’t have anything like that, then you’ll be fine anyways. C: Be warned! This position needs only one, if not two or three, spots filled, so do your best!

And as these auditions open, our art auditions come to a close! Do not send us any more artwork at this time, as you will be turned down immediately. If we happen to need more artists down the road, we will make another post calling for them!
