Let me put on my til foil hat as I say the countdown could be a distraction. From what? Solving greater codes.
Alex knows his audience is smart, so why did he make this so easy to find?
Why didn't the timer glitch out before Soos showed up? Surely enough traffic brought in by people watching the countdown should’ve crashed it, right?
Alex Hirsch could’ve labeled it as “lost files” to intrigue us enough to focus solely on what could lie after the countdown (or, rather countup now).
I have some confidence that there is something the website has to offer, but sitting here for so long has made me question things.
If you type in “Alex Hirsch” on the computer, it pulls up a bunch of flannel images on google.

Gently trying to push to find out why Thisisnotawebsitedotcom took my artwork.
I'm still not like, angry about it. Just sort of confused as to why somebody from an official Gravity Falls website's art team decided to use my stuff when they've clearly got a huge amount of talented people on the project.

Again, I can't emphasise enough - it's spot on. It's pixel perfect. It even has weathering marks that I added, which the designer has attempted to cover up. Somewhat tellingly, it's also got a Greasy's diner coupon which is a very similar design to my own efforts, in the same location.
I get that this is fanart and it's all a good bit of fun but I would have at least liked to have been asked. I don't even expect to get anything out of this, just an acknowledgement of 'we took this unfairly' would be nice.
I even get that this is something most fans would be super proud of, even be excited by - but this is mostly just really, really strange. Like it doesn't make a lick of sense as to why they'd use a fan creation for this.
Please do reblog. Maybe bring it up on Twitter. A few of my friends have already, just in the vain hope that Alex acknowledges it. If you do the same please just tag me as well so I can keep track.

alex hirsch truly is like. the guy ever. he created one of if not the most renowned and successful disney tva shows. he clowns on said network. he won his high school’s bird calling contest. he hates trump and is always advocating for people to vote. also prank calls republican/maga hotlines and was on the washington post for such. he voices half the cast of his own show and does a deranged mickey mouse voice he uses for like two separate shows. he owns a giant taxidermy buffalo. he and his sister were on an international improv team in high school. disney censored practically all queer themes in his show and now he has a nyt best seller (and created the website plus recent interviews ect ect) that imply there was something going on between that fuck ass triangle and ford. a straight man creating good old man yaoi. creates the craziest rabbit holes to send the fandom down probably primarily fueled by adhd and coffee. he probably has his flannel sewn to his body atp and has thousands of sticky hands on the wall in his house. i could go on but he’s just truly such a interesting guy
