no offense but some of y'all should really consume more weird media ok some of y'all are ready to clutch your pearls at the mere sight of the slightest offbeat concept in speculative fiction and this can't go on

Thank you for the Tag, @oh-no-another-idea! This ended up being a Last Snippet because this scene was just too perfect not to post, it's also chaotic and Augustus' sense of self-preservation is unhinged, but I love this duo so much! They've taken up every corner of my mind lately, lmao.
"If it serves as consolation... it's not all my blood. I think. Well, most of it is. I can never be completely sure, but they're dead now. We should probably go." He leaned against the wagon's gilded door, trying to seem nonchalant - though, through the cuts in the white fabric of his suit she could see a plethora of deep stab wounds painstakingly healing, stitching up together like glue. Whatever those goons did to him, Augustus must've gotten quite a few of their souls as payback. Still, she's unsure whether he's pretending to be fine or if he truly does not feel pain at all. But that's a weird question for another moment, so she mentally archives it among all the other unanswered mysteries of her life. Harriet shook her head with a stuttering breath, forcing herself to look away. She was sure she'd turned pale as a sheet but tried to bring herself back to the mission at hand - getting off this train. "I'm not entirely sure you know what consolation means if you think this is one. But alright."

"youve already written that trope" yesss. i like it a lots. i will be writing it again. 1000 stories of the same trope over and over again for ten million years
the "i'm not pretty like the other girls because i'm pale and skinny" female protagonist trope is something i loathe more than almost anything else in the world but i'd be more willing to forgive it if the author was brave enough to commit to it. if your "unattractive" female protagonist is a snow-white waif then i'd better see you emphasising how nauseatingly corpselike she looks. how people shudder when her maggot-flesh fingers touch their bare skin because they're expecting her to be cold and damp. how her birdlike bones and dainty waist are contemptible rather than desirable. maybe even have her develop a degree of beauty by gaining some weight and colour for a change. put down the necromancer barbie template and show me a proper little freak.
Okay people have been talking about this but I wanna talk about it too because my heart is in a vice grip over it

The fact that Lucifer looks so vacant when the angels’ spears are on him. He looks so…dead and accepting. Like he doesn’t care what they do to him.

But then when the spears suddenly turn to Charlie…

He is horrified. He is so so scared of losing her, of anything bad or even lethal happening to her. He looks like he’s looking upon his worst nightmare seeing heaven threaten his little girl
(In other words, eat it Lute, he does care.)

Thank you so much for the tag, @bardicbeetle!

21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?
Never. I think about writing constantly and am always overflowing with new ideas and concepts that I'd love to turn into new stories or add to my WIPs! Writing is one of the greatest highlights of my days and I've been coming up with fantasy stories since I was a little kid - it's been my passion ever since. I can't imagine my life without pursuing anything career-wise for myself that doesn't involve creating something, and that includes writing!
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
Oh, I love this question. I'll answer it for the cast of my WIP Enchanted Illusions!
Marcus Kallihan, the story's finest sniper and most dangerous assassin is incredibly good at playing the violin. It's a hobby he doesn't have much time to pursue lately, but which he is very passionate about.
Augustus Grimmure hates butterflies and flying insects with all his might. There isn't really an answer as to why, he just has an innate phobia of any kind of insectoid that can just pick up and fly to his face at any given moment just because it can.
Damien Daemitya hates dancing in public. It's not that he's not good at it, he is very good at almost everything he puts his mind to (except drawing and maybe cooking), but it just feels awkward for him to dance around other people and he hates it when he goes to events (such as masquerades and balls) where dancing is required between nobility. He used to adore dancing with his first love though, (Evangeline's birth mother, Portia), at home in their mansion - it was one of his favorite things to do. He's also the one who taught Evangeline, their daughter, how to dance.
39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?
That's a good question. When I hit a writing slump, nowadays, I usually take a break before I can get really overwhelmed by that feeling. During that break, I try to consume media that I know I like and that'll possibly inspire me, such as movies, series, books, and especially music! I love creating writing playlists, as music tends to get me into a daydreaming mood - and that daydream usually sparks some inspiration for a story I'm working on.
Also, the nagging feeling of needing to write at all costs (or else I'll implode) and wanting to see my WIPs published one day also helps me from giving up when the days get tough! We all have days or weeks when our writing isn't at its best or isn't coming out like we wish it would - and when it comes down to it, I think that it is a matter of being patient with ourselves and giving our minds the time and care needed to inspire more creative thinking!
